銀座 鮨 中本Ginza Sushi Nakamoto
Located in Ginza 1-chome, "Ginza Sushi Nakamoto" is an authentic Edomae sushi shop held by an owner with over 35 years of sushi experience. Inside the shop, a calm space where you can feel the warmth of wood. You can enjoy your meal at a comfortable and relaxing counter seat. The owner himself selects seasonal fish at Toyosu Market, and applies traditional techniques to draw out the flavor of the ingredients. For sushi rice, we use "Mutsu Nishiki," a rare sushi-specific rice grown without pesticides from Aomori Prefecture, and use rice vinegar and red vinegar separately according to the fish. In addition to nigiri, we also prepare seasonal snacks and selected sake, wine, and champagne. At the calm counter seat, while feeling the artisan's handiwork up close, please enjoy sushi at your leisure...

Simply put, this is the best sushi meal I've eaten in my life. Nakamoto-san takes great care in preparing each piece. The octopus was tender and delicious. I didn't know octopus could have that texture. Aside from the octopus, the scallop, uni, and ebi were far and away the best versions of those I have tasted. This was my one big splurge meal for this trip, and it was well worth the yen.
View on GoogleAs all the other reviews say, this place was a great find, a very nice omakase experience. I found this place by scrolling through omakase places on google maps, and was at first skeptical because of the overwhelmingly positive reviews (these days some places pay people to write positive reviews, or even set up fake ai accounts etc), but reading them more closely I was convinced to go, and I'm happy I did! The chef (Nakamoto) is extremely friendly, experienced, and passionate about his craft. It was clear he put a lot of thought into each bite, and was very interested in how we experienced every piece of sushi. Hard to decide, but I think my favorite dish was probably the abalone (though uni is hard to beat 😁).
View on GoogleLovely omakase experience! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming, and the chef was incredibly kind. The sushi was extremely fresh and beautifully prepared. The uni was my absolute favorite 😍 so rich and delicious! Highly recommend this spot in Ginza. Would definitely come back!
View on GoogleA beautiful, intimate omakase spot you don’t just stumble upon you come for it on purpose, and that’s exactly what makes it special. The atmosphere felt personal and warm, and the chef was a huge part of the experience. He was sweet and focused, clearly serious about his craft, yet still fun and easy to connect with. He explained every dish, answered questions, and paid attention throughout the meal, which made the whole evening feel thoughtful and genuinely cared for. The quality of the fish was outstanding easily the best we had in Japan. Every bite felt precise, fresh, and intentional. I celebrated my birthday there, and it’s a dinner I’ll remember for a very long time. We ate sushi throughout the trip and almost skipped doing an omakase, but I truly think at least one omakase experience is absolutely worth it when traveling in Japan. Nakamoto’s restaurant is a lovely place to do it.
View on GoogleA Masterful Omakase Experience Our visit to Ginza Sushi Nakamoto was nothing short of extraordinary. Recommended to us by Hiro at Bar Butler, this intimate sushi haven delivered an experience that exceeded every expectation. We began our omakase journey with an array of expertly prepared livers, each bursting with rich, refined flavors—a bold and memorable start. This was followed by a delicate crab egg custard that perfectly balanced savory and creamy notes, paving the way for the star of the meal: pristine cuts of fish. Each piece was a revelation, showcasing the chef’s unmatched skill and dedication to his craft. The evening concluded on a deeply personal note. After sharing that uni was my wife’s favorite, the chef prepared a sublime uni dish that brought our meal to a perfect close. This level of attentiveness and care exemplified the restaurant’s commitment to making every guest feel valued. To heighten the experience, the chef even opened a rare bottle of sake for us, an exquisite pairing that elevated each bite. The artistry, hospitality, and culinary excellence at Ginza Sushi Nakamoto make it a dining destination unlike any other. If you’re seeking a world-class sushi experience, this is where you’ll find it.
