The tiled exterior, the thick-looking texture of the paint on the stairwell walls, the sheen of the worn-smooth handrail. You can feel the charm of the Showa era in many places. The Suruga-dai Gallery space is on the 2nd floor. After climbing stairs as dim as shade and passing through the gallery entrance, you enter a bright space. ※When I visited, "Masanori Kihara Exhibition: Forms Being Born — Clad in Light —" (October 16–21, 2023) was being held.

It's on the 2nd floor of the Top Building. I saw an exhibition by graduates and current students of Tohoku University of Art and Design, featuring watercolor, oil, acrylic, Japanese-style painting (nihonga), drawings, and more.

I drop by quite often when I have time in Ginza. I skip it when it's a group show with many artists, but for solo shows by young artists, I get the impression they discover good artists

A gallery famous for nurturing new artists, for example by holding the L'espoir exhibition. Many artists became famous after showing their work here. Location: from the Ginza Nishi 6-chome intersection where Sotobori-dori and Kojunsha-dori cross, take the back street behind Marugen 15 Building from Kojunsha-dori toward Miyuki-dori; the third building is the Top Building, and the gallery is on its 2nd floor. There's a Ringer Hut nearby.

A small gallery in Ginza. The "Kanade" exhibition is a great opportunity to see works by young artists
