Nichido Gallery, near the Sukiyabashi intersection in Ginza, is one of Japan's leading long-established galleries. It may seem a bit intimidating, but you can just go to look at the paintings. Works by famous painters such as Renoir, Utrillo, and Fujita Tsuguharu are on display, and every December there's an exhibition called the Mignon Exhibition, centered on size 4 paintings. During this period there are more works by young painters than in the usual exhibitions, and it seems you can buy paintings at fairly reasonable prices.

It was my first visit, and it's in a really easy-to-find spot. It's close, about a 15-minute walk from Tokyo Station. I'd love to hold a solo exhibition at Nichido Gallery someday too~ I'm aiming to become a master!

Today I went because a painter I like was exhibiting in something called the Taiyo Exhibition. It was my first time there, and the building has a sense of history. At first it felt hard to walk in, but once inside it was of course quiet, and very comfortable, and I got to see all kinds of paintings. In the bustle of Ginza, it was a moment of quiet space.
