Found this gem in Ningyocho—Tonkatsu Fujiki! 🐖✨ Ordered their signature tonkatsu and added a giant fried prawn on the side. The pork cutlet was absolutely massive, incredibly juicy, and fried to crispy perfection. The prawn was huge and sweet, too! If you’re looking for serious comfort food with generous portions in Tokyo, this is it. Absolute satisfaction.
View on GoogleDEC 2024 (Re-visit) Tried the thick cut Hayashi SPF pork loin cutlet, mille-feuille pork cutlet, and both the small and large deep fried prawn; and this time the meal was just as good as the first visit. Panko coating was flaky and perfectly coated; thick cut pork loin was tender and the fat cap was rich and flavor packed; mille-feuille pork cutlet was so soft and juicy; and the ratio of panko to prawn for the large size was very good and cooked just right with a springy and slightly firm texture. MAR 2024 Visited here to try the tomahawk (bone-in pork cutlet) which is not a common cut served at a tonkatsu restaurant. It comes in at 300g (bone probably 50g) so it might be too much if you don't have a big appetite. The pork was very thick yet it was cooked perfectly; slightly pink, tender and juicy. Panko coating was also perfect, nice and crispy. There were two pieces at the tail end of the bone which was very fatty but full of flavor; best way to enjoy is to have it with some hot mustard to cut through the fattiness and some salt to enhance the savoriness. Also ordered a piece of the pork fillet cutlet which is a lean but very tender cut; also very tasty. For the quality of the tonkatsu, even if the rice/miso/pickles comes at an additional cost it is worth it; it also gives you the flexibility if you decide to indulge in meat only. The owner was nice and welcoming.
View on GoogleI arrived about 35minutes before they closed so I had the place to myself. I ordered promptly and had the Tomhawk Tonkatsu Pork chop set menu it was excellent and just what I wanted. Really tasty and worth the trip to the restaurant, staff were friendly and efficient.
View on GoogleWe didn’t expect to enjoy such a delightful pork cutlet. Thick and juicy pork served with an enthusiastic server even past the dinner meal time. We tasted many pork cutlets outside of Japan. What a huge different in term of moist and taste. Will highly recommend this location and worth our revisit. It has enough dinning tables around this area is a huge plus.
View on GoogleI ordered Tomahawk Tonkatsu. It’s a super-large deep-fried pork cutlet that was very tender and tasty. There are choices between sweet and spicy sauces, but I think the spicy sauce was not spicy at all. However, both sauces were great! Although there was no English menu (I’ve already asked for), the waiter explained the menu to me very well. Overall, I recommend trying this menu!
