【A very long-established monja restaurant founded in Showa 25 ( ˶¯ 灬¯˵) The classic mentaiko mochi cheese is sooo good (○・∀・○) Monja as a snack with alcohol is the best♡】 Founded in Showa 25. I visited “Monja Kondo,” Tsukishima's oldest and popular monjayaki restaurant⭐️ I booked the main restaurant online, but was directed to the second branch right across from it. The main restaurant manages reservations and visitors, and they seem to coordinate well. ——When I visited—— Weekday dinner ——Reservation—— Reserved (online booking) ——Occasion—— With a friend (2 people) ——Cost—— ¥4,000〜¥5,000 ——What we ate—— ▶Mochi cheese mentaiko So much mentaiko, absolute happinessss (*ˊ˘ˋ*)。♪:*° The cheese adds mellowness too—yum (๑• . •๑)♡ The sauce isn't too strong either, just the right balance!! ▶Pork kimchi cheese monja The kimchi's crunch and spicy kick are so good!! It goes perfectly with cheese too♡ ▶Butter-grilled king oyster mushrooms and asparagus The mushroom flavor and the crisp asparagus, with the richness of butter, make a lovely snack with drinks (*ˊ˘ˋ*)♪ ▶Butter-grilled oysters Rich, creamy, and so plump!! A little drizzle of soy sauce adds a lovely roasted aroma—delicious!! ——Menu—— Monjayaki ◇Mochi cheese mentaiko ¥1,870 ◇Pork kimchi cheese monja ¥1,870 Teppanyaki ◇Butter-grilled oysters ¥1,210 ◇Butter-grilled king oyster mushrooms ¥495 ◇Butter-grilled asparagus ¥440 Palate cleansers ◇Lightly pickled cucumber ¥330 ——Service—— Neither good nor bad There are plenty of staff, so service is quick!! It seemed they would cook the monja for you if asked! ——Value—— Worth the price ——Interior atmosphere—— A much smaller space than the main restaurant. There are about 4-6 tables on the 1st floor. The restroom is on the 2nd floor, which also has seating. ——Would I return?—— ★★★☆☆ If I get another chance!
View on GoogleAmong all the monja restaurants packed into Kachidoki, Kondo stands out for its delicious food and especially good value! It's a traditional monja restaurant, but I think it's incredible how exceptionally tasty it is while preserving its long-established flavor. This is what monja and okonomiyaki should be. I'll stop by again the next time I'm in Tsukishima. That's proof of my satisfaction. Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleI tried monjayaki for the first time at Kondo Branch 2! I couldn't contain my excitement as the generously filled monja spread out sizzling on the griddle. The special Kondo monja was packed with luxurious ingredients like fresh squid, shrimp, and octopus, and the flavors were perfectly balanced. In particular, the bacon tomato cheese monja combines the savory bacon and tangy tomato beautifully, letting you enjoy an Italian-style monja. It's a place that makes you want to return! Recommended for university students and young professionals too.
