Venerable haunt for coffee only, with drinks served in vintage china & champagne glasses.

A 15-Minute Escape to Coffee Perfection in Ginza Tucked away in the heart of Ginza lies Café de L'Ambre, a legendary coffee sanctuary frozen in time. Now completely smoke-free, this historic icon welcomes you into a tranquil, almost sacred atmosphere that feels worlds away from the bustling city outside. This isn't your average cozy café to lounge for hours. It’s a place of pure focus and timeless craftsmanship. My sole mission today? To indulge in their legendary Coffee Jelly (¥1,000, tax included). Rich, deeply aromatic, and crafted with the precision of true coffee masters, it is an absolute masterpiece. Just 15 minutes here is enough to transport your senses—a brief, quiet luxury that reveals the true depth and elegance of Ginza’s hidden culture. If you appreciate the art of exceptional coffee, this is a must-visit destination for your Tokyo itinerary.
View on GoogleThis is not just a coffee shop, but a place to experience the coffee culture. Taste, space and history merge on a high level, and there is a clear reason to revisit. If you are looking for an authentic drink in the ginza/shimbashi area, this is a famous restaurant that should be included in your choice. Next time, I wanna try Queen Amber
View on GoogleCafe de l'Ambre is a timeless coffee shop that feels like stepping back in time. The atmosphere is calm, cozy, and filled with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. It is fascinating to watch the baristas work with such care and precision, treating coffee like an art form. The menu focuses on classic styles, and every cup tastes deep and perfectly balanced. It is the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and appreciate the moment. A true gem for coffee lovers.
View on GoogleBreaks the norm in every way. Café de L’Ambre is a completely different coffee experience. A tiny cup (not espresso) with an incredibly rich and memorable experience. What stood out was how personal it felt. They ask about your taste, let you pick beans, and guide you from there. Very old-school vibe, nothing flashy or Instagrammable, just a quiet space that lets the coffee speak. Not just a cup of coffee, it’s a craft. Worth visiting at least once if you’re in Tokyo.
View on Googlea great small kissaten with a coffee menu that is all perfected and delicious! their choices of coffee beans are also plenty. come during weekdays during non-peak hours to have a more quiet atmosphere. but even if there is a line, turnover rate is high so there is nothing to worry about. the owners are super friendly and amazing. prices are quite on the higher side but with the flavor, service, and atmosphere, visiting at least once is a must!
