Climb the just-right stairs and open the door on the left, and you'll find Akane Gallery, a long-established gallery in Ginza. It's cozy, gets natural light, and the hospitality is warm ✨✨ I recommend it. The artist also seemed comfortable there.

While making the rounds of galleries, the "Akane Gallery" sign caught my eye. I passed by for the first time in decades (October 21, 2023). After climbing steep stairs reminiscent of the Showa–Heisei eras, on the left is a bright gallery space lined with heartfelt works. An 8-artist exhibition (Octogone Exhibition) (October 16–October 22) by artists affiliated with the Nihon University College of Art and the Nihon University Graduate School of Art was being held.

A 1-minute walk from Ginza; it's on the 2nd floor, but easy to find. Inside there are chairs, tables, and sofas, with a calming atmosphere. A really nice atmosphere for solo exhibitions.

It's on the 2nd floor of a Showa-retro building.
