Trattoria Filo
An attic-style Italian restaurant in Sengawa. To raise the sensation of "delicious" one level higher, we are a restaurant that delivers novelty, surprise, and service while serving orthodox Italian cuisine. Our fish is special fresh fish, bled and ikejime'd with the shinkei-jime method, sourced from the Goto Islands. Our meat is Hida beef raised in the clean environment of Gifu, the chef's hometown. In our warm, DIY-crafted attic-style dining room, you can casually enjoy à la carte dishes, or savor an authentic course meal for anniversary dinners and other special occasions.

We visited for dinner on a Monday and it was relatively quiet, but we had one of the most simple but delicious Italian dinners in this area and walked away thoroughly enjoying the meal, ambience and the experience. Helmed by a young chef, who was working in the kitchen and servicing at the same time, seemed absolutely in his element in the kitchen and you could see the passion of his work in the dishes. We had two appetizers, both of them were simple, but showcasing the beautiful local produce in it's right manner and not overpowering them with heavy flavours but had good depth of flavour and was very inventive. We had two pastas and both of them were 10 out of 10 for us. Again simple pasta cooking styles, not overpowering with rich flavours or ingredients, no place to hide in such simple cooking style unless you get that right and both the pastas were perfection seasoned, cooked ans finished to perfection. Being a Italian wine lover, I was surprised to see a good range of DOCG wines on offer and couple of Barbera wines I tasted was spot on. A small neighborhood style restaurant, great ambience and these are the kind of restaurants that makes exploring for new restaurants in Japan all the worth while.
View on GoogleNice wine and food pasta, especially the sea urchin one. If I would suggest something should be improved mute is the atmosphere for the ones not being familiar with the staff members there. We felt like literally"visitors" (not guests), while others enjoy closer conversations with the staff members and the chef.
View on GoogleService quality well above average (i mean Tokyo average). In my opinion so far, best taste of pasta of all pasta restaurant along the Keio line. And rather inexpensive. One of those restaurants where i prefer to be charged more rather than seeing it closing down.

Starting with a cold starter of kue (longtooth grouper) and ratatouille, then chilled corn soup with prosciutto, freshly baked fava bean pie, fresh flat wide pasta with a wonderful texture in bolognese sauce, a one-spoon sazae risotto, grilled kue, grilled lean wagyu, all the way to a final dessert with a pronounced melon flavor, I thoroughly enjoyed a full course brimming with creativity, just like last time. Also, it was a happy discovery that the original house wine I ordered by the glass (especially the red) was very delicious. 25/06 First visit, for dinner. An Italian restaurant 5 minutes on foot from Sengawa Station. Since reviews said the fish was very good, I got greedy and ordered a full course of caprese, sea urchin bruschetta, kue carpaccio, grilled kue, Parmigiano cheese risotto, and panna cotta with melon. Every dish was as delicious as expected or even more so. For example, in the kue carpaccio, the flavor and texture of the large slices of kue were the perfect match for the green salad garnished with chrysanthemum petals. It was a carpaccio of a deliciousness I'd never tasted before. The grilled kue, too, despite its gentle seasoning, was a dish that fully brought out the deliciousness of the thick-cut kue. Beyond the fish dishes, the risotto, cooked spot-on with just a bit of bite left in the center and rich with Parmigiano flavor, was also a memorable plate. The dishes were so delicious that I wanted to try a meat dish too, and even though I was midway through, I added an order of lean wagyu tagliata‼ Though lean, the meat was tender and flavorful, cooked with perfect heat and seasoning, and together with the rich mashed potato on the side, it was another enjoyable plate. It's run by the chef and 1 staff member, but the pace of service was just right, and from appetizers to mains, wine, and dessert, I had a comfortable dinner time.
