I visited 'Tenfuji', a tempura shop located about halfway between Tobitakyu and Nishi-Chofu. It was a shop I had been curious about for a long time, but I was finally able to visit. I went from six in the evening. There were several couples of calm regular customers. I enjoyed the sashimi and tempura course, and it was quite delicious. The owner and his wife were also wonderful people, and they entertained us with light talk. I enjoyed it so much, but I was surprised that only about an hour had passed. I had asked for permission in advance to take pictures... but... it was so delicious and fun... I could hardly take any pictures^^; At this time of year, it seems the crowd level is such that you can get a reservation if it's two weeks later. Since it was a wonderful shop, I will visit again! 2024.06 By the way, I forgot that I visited. I will only add photos^^; 2024.07 Visited again. This time I also spent the best time. Since the food and atmosphere of the shop are written by others, I will only add photos of the food this time♪ Thank you very much for the always delicious tempura.
View on GoogleLunch is only served for one hour from 12:00 to 13:00. Basically, the seating is a counter surrounding the kitchen. There are tables, but if you want to enjoy freshly fried tempura, the counter is recommended. The order is the Ume set menu, exclusive to lunch. It is a popular menu item that almost everyone orders. Plates are placed on the counter, and we enjoy each piece of tempura freshly fried. It starts with two shrimp and a whiting (kisu). At the same time, rice, shijimi clam miso soup, and pickles are served. Tempura is enjoyed with tempura sauce (tentsuyu) and two types of salt. For the freshly fried shrimp, one is eaten with tempura sauce, and the other with curry salt. The freshly fried, crispy tempura is delicious. Tempura is best when it's freshly fried! The whiting is also fried to be fluffy. They keep coming, next are sweet potato and eggplant. After finishing those, there's shishito pepper, lotus root, and pumpkin. It's delicious with either salt or tempura sauce. It might be bad manners, but dipping the tempura into the sauce and bouncing it on the rice is also great. Halfway through, I ran out of rice and asked for a refill. Delicious, freshly fried tempura makes the rice go down quickly. Crispy, freshly fried tempura makes even vegetables taste great. Since it was my first time, I didn't know what would come in this Ume course, and just when I thought it was over, they said, 'The kakiage is ready, would you like it as a tendon?' There was still kakiage... and they would even make it into a tendon... While regretting that I had already refilled my rice, of course I said yes!! The kakiage was placed on a rice bowl. It had shrimp and small scallops. It's soaked in a bowl sauce that isn't too sweet. The sauce isn't too sweet and has a great dashi flavor. This is super delicious! I had the set meal, but I felt lucky to get a kakiage bowl at the end. The extra rice was unnecessary, but the Ume set meal was very satisfying. Just when I thought it was finally over and went to stand up, dessert was brought out. I wondered what it was? When I took a bite, it was pineapple tempura. And it was freshly fried too. This was a first-time experience. You eat it with cream, and it's quite delicious. It's my first time having fruit tempura.
View on GoogleI went for the first time after being invited by a friend. I had heard it was a popular tempura shop, and the owner and his wife were both lovely people, so we had a great time! Delicious tempura isn't greasy at all, so you can eat as much as you want! I'll go with my family next time!
