I came on a rainy day and got what I think was probably the best seat in the restaurant. The restaurant was packed with mostly locals, which I think is a good sign that the restaurant is good. I ordered gomadare soba (sesame soba) with kuzumochi. They give you sobayu on the side with the soba, which is the water the noodles were cooked with. You’re supposed to add it to your leftover broth after your done eating and drink it. The food was delicious. The amount of kinako on the kuzumochi was very generous. The texture of the mochi was a bit more firm than the ones I’ve tried before but still soft, which I really enjoyed. My total came to 1800¥, which I think is very reasonable given the amount I was served. The service was good and efficient. You order and pay before getting a seat. They let you eat in peace but they still noticed that I was done with my soba and brought me the mochi. You also get complimentary green tea. I’m usually a bit nervous about solo dining but this was a great experience.

Walking by the temple near by, I found a nice and quiet Soba noodle shop with a lovely garden area out front. I had to enter to try and was glad I did as the environment was quite relaxing and the food was fresh and tasty. I would recommend trying the soba with mochi set!

Superb soba in a Tranquil location. Well worth seeking out. Light and crispy tempura. Divine kuzomochi. Very reasonable price.

Delicious soba and fabulous view at the tiny garden. Although Jindaiji is a famous soba place, this restaurant has the best oyakodon I've ever had. Finally, it's reasonably priced, the portions are not big but satisfying and the staff is very helpful. Highly recommended!
