View on Google【パクパクモンスター – The reassurance of neighborhood Chinese food. An afternoon immersed in thick gomoku sauce】 This is パクパクモンスター. Today, I was drawn into a particularly eye-catching green building by the roadside in Chofu. Chinese food attached to a business hotel: I stepped inside with high hopes inspired by an exterior that seemed to 「get it」. Today's order: half & half set(1,100円) • Gomoku noodle soup • Fried rice • Includes salad and almond tofu Looking at the tray that arrived, I first felt reassured by its 「classic appeal」. The gomoku noodle soup was a parade of ingredients! Napa cabbage, bok choy, wood ear mushrooms, shrimp, and quail eggs. The thickened sauce coated the noodles. The fried rice had nicely separated grains, with a beautiful contrast between diced chashu and egg. Nothing gimmicky, just reassuring quality that says, 「This is exactly what I want」. • Sight: The sauce's sheen and the red goji berry perched on the almond tofu whet the appetite. • Taste: A gentle soy-sauce-based broth. No standout individuality, but an unfussy flavor you could seemingly eat every day. • Texture: The curls of the noodles pick up the sauce well, mingling with the ingredients' crunch in your mouth. Restaurant atmosphere Being on the hotel's 1st floor, the interior is spacious and feels clean. The staff are efficient, and the atmosphere lets you feel comfortable alone or in a group. It's something of a roadside oasis. Rather than a storm of amazement, it's a quietly felt satisfaction: 「Ah, I'm full and happy again today」. With this many dishes and this much food for 1,100円, it was a meal that made sense in terms of value too.
View on Google《酔八仙/Fuchu/Chinese cuisine》 If the restaurant catches your interest, please 【save the restaurant】. I hope this can help with your “food travels without indecision”. This is 路地裏ごはん録. The other day, I went to 「酔八仙」 for lunch in Fuchu, Tokyo. In the mood for Chinese food, I casually dropped in. First, regardless of the fact that it was lunchtime, I started with draft beer. …but one sip felt off. 「Hmm? Bitter…」An unexpected punch in the middle of the day. Whether it was the dispenser's condition or the gas pressure, it seemed different from the usual beer. Quite a stimulating start for a lunchtime drink (haha). Pulling myself together, I ordered the fried rice & tantanmen set. The portion was generous and satisfying. However, the overall flavor seemed a little salty. The beer's influence, or my own condition… a lunch that gave me various things to think about. Still, the other customers seemed to be enjoying themselves normally. This “difference in perception” is another interesting part of eating and drinking. Next time, perhaps I'll play it safe and try again with a highball or tea. Good food isn't bound by location. Even inside a station, that moment can arrive. Thank you for the meal!!
View on GoogleYou can casually enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine. The restaurant space is large, with decor and furniture that are unmistakably Chinese-restaurant style, retro, and quiet piano jazz playing in the background. Four-person tables are arranged in rows, including by the windows and walls, making it easy to visit alone or in a group, and they seem to adapt the layout to the number of people and occasion ⭐️ The chefs and dining-room staff are all experienced men, and perhaps thanks to their many years of experience, they welcome you with hospitality-filled service 🤗 Their calm voices when I called beforehand were reassuring too. Given how hungry I was that day, I only ordered a single noodle dish and felt a little apologetic, but they happily accommodated me ☆ I ordered what might be their signature dish, malatang 🍜 A fragrant bowl that evokes the history and depth of Chinese cooking. 🌶️ It uses plenty of chili peppers, but isn't as hot as it looks; the heat is refined and encourages sweating at a healthy level, with a 「medicinal」 soup packed with vegetables such as bok choy and 🥬 pak choi, along with tofu skin, and 2 noodle choices: Chinese noodles or 「mung bean glass noodles」. The mung bean glass noodles, which I tried for the first time, were a wider type, about 1.3mm. Perhaps this is the authentic style. They were thick and chewy, complemented the malatang, and were very delicious. Recommended ✨ Thanks to them, it became an unforgettable restaurant and bowl for me ♪ Thank you for the meal ♪ I'm grateful. ~~~~~~~ It became a favorite, and I visited again the following evening ♪ I had the specialty 陳麻婆豆腐 🍲, dim sum, noodles with thickened sauce, and kale salad 🥬. The kale salad dressed with sesame oil, the springy dim sum steamed in bamboo baskets, and the mapo tofu, which retained some bite, were delicious. A comfortable Chinese dining restaurant I'd visit often if it were nearby. Thank you for the meal. ~~~~~~~ Credit card payments are accepted 💳️ They also accept various electronic payment methods and transit IC cards ⭐️ There is a full selection of alcoholic and soft drinks too 🍹 Beer 🍺 comes on tap, and bottled beer from all 4 major brands is available. Sake, shochu, wine, highballs, and Shaoxing wine 🥃 made it seem like a complete lineup. 🚗 If visiting by car, you can use the hotel parking lot 🅿️ behind the main road. They say it's free for dining customers ⭐️ LO, last orders, are at 20:30 in the evening and 9:00 for hotel guests' breakfast.
