A neighborhood Chinese restaurant behind the building housing Maruetsu. The TV volume is fairly loud. No counter seats, only tables. The gaps on either side are very narrow, so getting to the back is a bit… There were small packets of gyoza sauce on the table. ■Chukadon 900円 It arrived in a ramen bowl. This was the first time it didn't come with soup. When I asked the staff, they said it was an extra 50円. On top were thin omelet strips, green peas. Naruto. 2 pieces of white kamaboko, wood ear mushrooms, carrots, cabbage, sweet napa cabbage, and onions. No seafood or quail eggs. Piping-hot thick sauce, salt-based with a strong broth flavor. So delicious~~!! There was lots of pork. Maybe belly, though it also seemed like shoulder loin. Tender, sweet, delicious meat. There may be no other neighborhood Chinese restaurant using pork of such quality. The rice was hot and fluffy with distinct grains, and there was plenty of it. It looked simple but was incredibly delicious~!! It might have been even better with seafood and quail eggs.

Hello, I'm Sapio ✍️美芳 [Score] 79 points ☆3.4 [Access] “Kokuryocho Station” (2-minute walk) [Closed] Sunday [Order] Canton noodles [Queue/system] No queue when visiting; verbal ordering, payment after the meal [Flavor] Soy sauce Today I'm introducing “美芳.” A long-established neighborhood Chinese restaurant founded in Kokuryo in 1955. It's currently run by the 2nd generation. Inside, it's bustling with older local residents far removed from ramen fanatic circles. I was shown to a shared table and ordered Canton noodles. Service proceeded smoothly. ______________ 🟦Impressions ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ ̄ Topped with shredded omelet and green peas, it has an unusual appearance for Canton noodles. The soup contains almost no fat, only what comes from the pork pieces and other ingredients in the thick sauce. Classic Canton noodles, with a clean-tasting broth given thickness by the sauce. The noodles are thin and straight. The low-hydration noodles are thoroughly cooked, allowing the thick sauce to cling to them. The soup itself is light, which is probably why they chose this balance. Finished it all… Thank you for the meal. #さぴおラーメン #ラーメンデータベース #ラーメン #ラーメンインスタグラマー #ラーメン部

For dinner the other day, I visited “美芳,” tucked away in an alley behind the Maruetsu supermarket, a 2-minute walk from Kokuryo Station on the Keio Line. The tidy interior has only table seating, with capacity for around 30 people. The menu isn't particularly extensive, and prices are slightly high for a neighborhood Chinese restaurant. I'd come for the “fried rice,” unanimously praised by several Instagram followers, but spotted “kimchi fried rice” on the menu and immediately changed my mind (haha). I've always had a weakness for kimchi fried rice. If it's available, I'll very likely order it. However, this kimchi fried rice had a dry, crumbly texture and little umami, feeling somewhat lacking in punch compared with other places. The gyoza I ordered alongside it were the old-fashioned kind, mostly vegetables with a strong garlic flavor. There wasn't much filling, so they lacked substance, but they might be good with beer. I also tried some of my wife's stir-fried pork and kimchi. Regardless of the seasoning, it was a little oily overall. Despite “No Smoking” signs inside and outside, a group who appeared to be regulars were openly smoking inside. I thought the staff were also at fault for saying nothing. Given all that, I honestly hesitated over writing a review, but it was my first visit, so I decided to leave one as a personal record too. Personally, I'd like to give the supposedly delicious “fried rice” another chance, but my partner dislikes smoking, so a return visit may be unlikely. ----------------------------------- 【中華そば 美芳】 東京都調布市国領町3-1-39 ✔️Kimchi fried rice (large) ¥1000+(¥350) ✔️Gyoza ¥500 ✔️Tuna trimmings ¥800 ✔️Stir-fried pork and kimchi ¥950 ✔️Bottled beer (large bottle) ¥850 -----------------------------------

Entered less than 1 hour before closing. Lots of groups of drunk customers. I tried to avoid them and head to a table at the back, but an older male employee stopped me. I was directed to a smaller table in the middle. That was fine, but the pair right next to me had an ashtray on their table! With cigarette butts in it! Unbelievably, regular cigarettes were allowed, and right beside me. Surely these guys won't start smoking while I'm eating… Why seat me so close in the first place… A cramped spot because I'm alone… Just as I thought that, the next solo customer was allowed straight to a table at the back… Anyway, they weren't starting to smoke. (With someone nearby, that's only natural, but these guys specialize in bothering people and don't understand how the people affected feel→I was the same when I smoked, so I know all their tricks.) I ordered the fried rice a friend recommended (he said it was very moist but tasty, and his wife and children all enjoyed it), and gyoza. Reliable classics. The fried rice arrived in about 5 minutes. Yep, it really is soggy… Pale color, looks bland too… But although it really was soggy, it had a good flavor! Delicious! As I ate slowly, waiting for the gyoza, Both guys next to me started smoking! I felt murderous… no, stay calm, stay calm. The male employee was cold, but the female employee was kind and attentive, so I called her over and whispered, “I can't take this. Can I move over here 【pointing beside me】?” Of course, yes. I shared the large table at the back with the later customer. She offered to clear the next table (the customers had just left), but I declined because I didn't want to trouble her. The gyoza arrived too. I had the feeling those guys were watching me, but ignored them. Think about how much you're bothering other people… The gyoza looked incredibly plain (haha). Actually, they honestly looked bad… But they were delicious (happy). Wait… maybe better than the fried rice? At least equally good. After all that, I left reasonably satisfied. But watch out for the smoking… Eating amid a stench like that of a vagrant is impossible. Says the guy who used to smoke 4 packs of cigarettes a day (haha). Thank you for the meal.

Visit: public holiday Access: A 1-2 minute walk from the south exit of Kokuryo Station on the Keio Line; turn left before Lawson to find the restaurant. 11:30-14:30/17:30-20:30, apparently until 20:00 on Saturdays and public holidays. There was no line before opening, but customers came in immediately afterward. First, sanitize your hands on entering. Order from the menu on the table. At night, it seems you can also order items from the whiteboard on the wall. The drinking snacks look delicious! Wonton noodles 950 Fried rice 850 The wonton noodles have a light broth and thin, soft noodles, which may divide opinions, but I liked how easy they were to eat. They don't become salty as you keep eating, so you don't tire of them. The many wontons add substance. The fried rice is moist and fluffy with separate grains. Its distinctive feature is the large pieces of naruto. This isn't overly salty either and is easy to eat. Some might say it lacks punch, but the ginger aroma and umami made it delicious. After eating, take the bill to the register at the entrance to pay. The staff worked efficiently, so I had a quick lunch. Thank you for the meal!
