A Chinese restaurant in my neighborhood. It’s on the ground floor, and I hadn’t had much opportunity to go, but finally tried it. Each dish was carefully prepared and delicious. The floor staff were lovely too. They apparently offer lunch and dinner sets, and seem to welcome solo diners too. The chef was working alone, constantly tossing the wok, but the care in his cooking was memorable. Another restaurant added to my list of places to revisit 🍴 ・Cold wood ear mushrooms ・Mala twice-cooked pork ・Lamb shumai ・Egg and chili shrimp ・Mixed fried rice
View on GoogleOrdered shrimp fried rice and lamb shumai. The shrimp were springy, and the rice was separate yet moist, easy to eat and very delicious! It’s generously portioned, suitable for sharing. The shumai uses somewhat unusual minced lamb. A little spice complements the distinctive lamb flavor well. I enjoyed it!
View on GoogleI finally visited 麒麟飯店, located on an intermediate floor of the building. The large round tables, reasonable prices, and extensive menu made me happy, and I ordered too much. Everything was delicious, especially the black-vinegar sweet-and-sour pork and chili shrimp with egg, which had gentle, delicious flavors. The mapo tofu also had a strong Sichuan pepper kick and was authentically Sichuan-style—recommended. I’ve lived there on an overseas assignment; the food is good, and the interior isn’t overly ornate, with neighborhood Chinese-restaurant-style tables and a TV, giving it a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. A small team runs it, so orders don’t come out immediately, but I recommend it if you want an affordable taste of authentic China. Next time I look forward to ordering hot pot.
View on Google【Good value and views♪︎☆A surprisingly hidden Chinese restaurant】 小島町, 調布 City, 東京都. A Chinese restaurant offering good value. The nearest station is 調布 on the 京王 Line. It’s at the 「調布駅南入口」 intersection, where the main road in front of the south exit meets 品川通り. On the 4th floor of a mixed-use building. Incidentally, the 1st floor houses 郎郎郎, a Jiro-style ramen shop I often visit φ(..) This was actually my first visit to 麒麟飯店. It’s been around quite a while. I remember it participating every time in 調布 City’s annual spicy-food and mega-portion challenge events before the pandemic. It apparently received plenty of media coverage too, with lots of autograph boards displayed. As usual, I have absolutely no idea which celebrities signed them( ・∀・) A rainy weekend lunchtime, so I chose this nearby place. Just after 13:00, customers were coming and going. At least 3 staff members. A little cluttered, but the round tables and nice view make the atmosphere decent. I was shown to a table next to a mother and her son with an impressive mushroom haircut, returning from an entrance exam. Verbal ordering, payment afterward φ(..) ◆Today’s order◆ Shrimp fried rice 800円 Large portion 100円 Comes with salad, soup, and almond pudding. The vegetable-gravy yakisoba tempted me too, but I wanted a hearty meal, so chose large fried rice. The daily sets at 750円 were A: mapo eggplant, and B: eight-treasure stir-fry. The food took quite a while. Perhaps over 15 minutes. Four fairly large, springy shrimp. Very lightly seasoned fried rice with separate grains. Are they health-conscious? Light seasoning might be unusual for a Chinese restaurant. Other reviews mention light seasoning too, so it must be this restaurant’s style. The quantity was ample and filled me up. I think it offers good value(o^-')b ! #Maegashira #SupportLocal #GoodView #品川通り #RoundTablesAvailable #ChineseCuisine #ChineseFood #ChineseStyle #FriedRice #SetMeals #Tantanmen #HotPot #PekingDuck #GenerallyLightlySeasoned #PreviouslyHadExtraSpicyDishes #PreviouslyHadMegaPortions #PossibleReturnVisit
View on GoogleThe menu is extensive and nothing disappoints, so I regularly crave eating here. In particular, the mala twice-cooked pork with fragrant Sichuan pepper and the oysters stir-fried in oyster sauce, with large oysters and plenty of ingredients, are favorites I want to order every time! I’m truly grateful it’s nearby!!
