The lunch 海鮮丼 with a large portion of sushi rice is nice. The bowl is deep and holds plenty of rice, so it fills you up. There are no luxury toppings, but considering the price of 1,100円 (including tax), I think it is cheaper and tastier than conveyor-belt sushi chains. You may not be able to tell from the photo, but the miso soup contains crab, which made a lovely stock. I did not eat the nigiri myself, but apparently the rice portions were on the large side and it tasted decent. The ミニ穴子丼 in the set really was mini, and the conger eel was not plump and tender or the flavor I had imagined, but well, it was not bad either. In terms of volume too, I recommend the 海鮮丼 with a large portion of sushi rice for anyone who wants to eat plenty.

I had been curious about 深大ずし for a long time. I finally managed to go in at lunchtime. I have little experience with sushi that is not conveyor-belt sushi, so I felt nervous going inside. The cheerful owner and his wife greeted me with a bright 'Welcome!' and put me at ease. The restaurant is not especially spacious, but its calm atmosphere lets you relax. I ordered the 1,100円 lunch. It includes 8 nigiri, clear soup & pickles, plus a small rice bowl (ikura or conger eel). The thick toppings and sweet vinegared rice made an impression, full of the appeal of a sushi restaurant that differs from conveyor-belt sushi. Ah〜 it was delicious. I was happy to discover a place like this. I would like to visit regularly from now on. Next time I want to enjoy it in the evening with sake!
