Somewhat average soba experience. I had the cold seiro soba while my wife had the soba and egg rice bowl set. The soba was fine enough, but I've had better at other restaurants and got a lot more for my money. My wife seemed okay with her warm soba but the egg bowl was definitely a disappointment. It was such a thin slice of egg and the rice had little flavor, so after the small piece of egg was gone you were just eating a bowl of flavorless rice, we couldn't even finish it between the two of us. Maybe I'll have to try the warm soba next time but there are a better food and soba options around the area.
View on Google7/30 (Sat), a scorching day with a high above 34℃. I ordered the chilled fried eggplant oroshi soba. However, for the first time in the several years I've been coming here, I ran into a failed dish. Maybe the fried eggplant was piping hot, or maybe the soba wasn't chilled enough, but the soba was lukewarm and not tasty at all. I'd eagerly gone for a large portion, and the oil from the eggplant made the bad taste even worse; feeling fed up, I somehow managed to finish it. The customer who sat behind me ordered the same thing, so I was curious what they thought, but before I knew it they'd left. I think they probably left some of it. If you're going to put it on a chilled dish, I'd like them to cool it down first, or use something like agebitashi made in advance, or at least serve it separately. Actually, I'm moving, so I stopped by here one last time, and since this is what I got, I felt very disappointed. (2 years ago) 11/9 (Sat) I had nabeyaki udon for lunch. This was delicious, so I'd like to have it again in the coming season. (1 year ago) The soba and rice bowls are good, so I go sometimes. However, the udon uses the soba tsuyu with its strong soy flavor, so it's just so-so. When I ordered the rice bowl and udon set, it was pretty hefty. Full. I'm glad you can have nabeyaki udon (1150 yen) even in summer. Summer only: hiyamugi (1050 yen), chilled natto soba (920 yen)
View on GoogleA soba shop in the Sengawa shopping street. I like the atmosphere inside and have been there several times, but their days off aren't fixed, so sometimes I get turned away. As for the taste, if you ask whether any of it is especially remarkable, well, hmm, but I think it's a passing grade! I'd be so happy if they were open at night too! Thanks for the meal ♪
View on GoogleA soba shop in a shopping street that I casually dropped by. It feels like a place that has long been loved by the locals. Maybe it's a famous shop, since lots of autograph boards were displayed inside. This time I ordered the katsudon and soba set. I thought there'd be onions in the egg, but it was cabbage cooked in with it, giving a new texture, and it was delicious. It's a place I'd like to drop by again if I get the chance. Inside the shop, "Takasaki Daruma" were on display and also for sale. Maybe they're from Gunma Prefecture like me...
View on GoogleIn the hot season I crave cold soba, so I stopped by this place while shopping. I ordered the sansai oroshi. There were some tough bits of the mountain vegetables so the texture was a little off, but the soba itself tasted good! It was delicious.
