A full-day seminar on Sunday at Meiji University's Surugadai campus. A queue during the lunch break would be a problem. I wanted some light Japanese food… so I searched on map for somewhere that seemed to serve Japanese food quickly and went in. The agedashi tofu was piping hot. Thank you for the meal.

It is run by a company that operates university cafeterias, workplace cafeterias, and the like, so to put it positively, it is healthy, but personally I felt, “That's not what I wanted!” The chicken nanban could do with about 2 more pieces. The service is polite, so it is relaxing.

All seats are non-smoking🚭😃✌ Salt-grilled mackerel set meal 680円 Enter from a side street off Yasukuni-dori. It is on the 2nd floor, so please do not give up thinking “Wagan isn't here.

The entrance is on a narrow, alley-like street, and the place is on the 2nd floor, but there is a sign at the entrance, making it easy to find. If you look up from Yasukuni-dori, there is a prominent sign on the 2nd floor. You buy a meal ticket. The interior is clean, and the staff's service is excellent. You can spend your time comfortably. The food has simple flavors, and while it is by no means flashy, many dishes are comforting, so I think it is a place you will not tire of. Set-meal restaurants are a blessing for students and office workers alike. Women can thoroughly enjoy it too. Besides the set meals, there are side dishes such as raw eggs and natto for an additional charge.

I had the salted mackerel set meal. It was carefully grilled, with the impression that they probably start grilling it after receiving the order. The fatty mackerel and perfectly balanced saltiness were delicious. Also, unlike izakaya-style set meals that tend to have a jumble of little side dishes, the accompaniments were just soup, pickles, and ohitashi—minimal yet doing the most, and pleasantly simple. The miso soup in particular was lightly seasoned, and it was very good that its flavor was adjusted to refresh the palate among the salty side dishes. Next time I will order a different set meal. Thank you for the meal.
