Visited in May, 2026 : Third time trying this restaurant, way better than last time. The sushi, tempuras, beef steak were all back to excellent taste and quality. Yet, the Wagyu beef was still chewy. Services were attentive. Fantastic view, excellent vibe, with very reasonable price. Very satisfied!!! ——————————————————————————————————————————————————————- Visited in September, 2025 : We had visited this restaurant about one & a half years ago (March 2024) with a very impressive dining experience. This time the buffet's variety of food was fewer than I expected. The sushi part was not as good as before. Tempura was still great. The Wagyu beef was not tender enough. The 2 kinds of soups were tasty. Ice Creams & Sorbets were yummy. Other desserts and cakes were just okay. It was strange that we could hardly find any fruits at all, which IMO was not very acceptable for a lunch buffet at a high end restaurant! Restaurant atmosphere was fantastic with great views.
View on GoogleThis restaurant is 100% about the view, offering a magnificent, unparalleled panorama of Mount Fuji—which alone justifies the visit. The experience includes excellent, attentive service that meets the price point. However, the food quality is generally just above average, with the notable exception of the premium Wagyu, which is fantastic. Go for the breathtaking scenery and atmosphere, but keep culinary expectations moderate for anything besides the beef.
View on GoogleCame here for our Christmas dinner and the view absolutely delivered. Stunning skyline, elegant atmosphere, and a setting that instantly feels special without trying too hard. It’s the kind of place you choose when the occasion actually matters. Food was solid and well executed. Clean flavors, beautifully presented, and paced nicely for a long, relaxed dinner. Everything felt intentional and polished, which matched the elevated vibe of the space. What really stood out, though, was the service and management. One person in our group was unable to make it last minute, and the team very kindly refunded that guest without any pushback. That level of understanding and flexibility, especially during a busy Christmas period, is rare and genuinely appreciated. Great view, great atmosphere, and thoughtful service that leaves a good impression. Would happily return.
View on GoogleWent on a Monday evening and there were plenty of seats. Tried a little bit of everything and all I can say is I wish my stomach was bigger. Hard to choose a favorite dish because everything was delicious. The staff are very professional and you can feel the omotenashi, clearing plates every time I went to grab more food and offering to pour my sake when they saw I hadn’t touched it in a while. It’s certainly not the cheapest option, but the atmosphere, service, and quality/taste of the food make the price well worth it in my opinion. Reservations are easy to make online but I’m sure you could also ask the front desk to make one for you or call yourself if you prefer.
View on GooglePerched atop the New Otani Hotel in Tokyo, View & Dining The Sky delivers panoramic perfection with jaw-dropping 360-degree vistas of the glittering skyline, from Tokyo Tower’s orange glow to the endless sprawl of neon-lit streets below. The sleek, modern space—think floor-to-ceiling windows, plush velvet seating, and a glowing bar lined with premium bottles—feels like a floating oasis, especially at sunset when the city melts into a hazy pink symphony. My brother Mitch, still riding the wave of that infamous lost bet, rolled up in his full pink maid regalia: cat ears flopping, lace gloves waving, frilly apron poofing out like a cotton candy with his frilly petticoats peaking out. And those Marry Jane shoes with cute sock oh my! He struck poses against the “View & Dining The Sky” sign, heart hands at the window overlooking the Imperial Palace gardens, and even a dramatic air-kiss with the entire metropolis as his backdrop—blushing crimson but grinning ear-to-ear, utterly reveling in the spectacle like it was his personal runway. The staff? Absolute legends—they didn’t just tolerate the fabulous fiasco; they amplified it with zero hesitation. The servers snapped pics of Mitch “serving” mock cocktails at the bar, complete with exaggerated bows and giggles. It was peak embarrassment fuel, but Mitch? He lapped it up, twirling in those Mary Janes like he’d been born in them, clearly thriving on the spotlight. Cuisine-wise, it’s elevated bliss: velvety wagyu sliders, fresh sashimi towers, and inventive cocktails like yuzu martinis that pair flawlessly with the view. Service is polished yet playful, portions generous, and the vibe transitions seamlessly from chill afternoons to buzzing evenings with subtle DJ beats. Prices match the prestige but deliver every yen’s worth of wow. Mitch emerged a converted fanboy (outfit intact, dignity delightfully dented), and we’re plotting his encore. If you’re chasing luxury laced with laughter, this sky lounge is your ticket—book a window seat and let the city (and chaos) unfold! And we hear they plan on posting pics of Mitch on their social media pages…we can’t wait to see them🇯🇵✨🐾
