Very quiet and peaceful even during lunch rush time. I ordered a swordfish set meal (mekajiki めかじき定食) and it came out delicious. The soup was very good and I could taste the strong dashi flavor. The pickles on the side could have been more. For 1000 yen its perfect.

The good old Japanese fish meals restaurant. It's relatively precious because this kind of restaurants are very rare lately. Delicious but relatively cheap. Kind services.

I came here because the couple from a jazz bar next door had recommended this place. I didn’t see any foreigners in there it was a very local place. The owner said that they don’t take any cards so I went to the ATM although it was raining quite hard and got some money. When I came back, I ordered fish and after I ate, I wanted to pay. I gave him a ¥10,000 bill and the meal was ¥850. The owener gave me back ¥1000 missing. I felt so stupid to recount the money and tell him, everybody was looking at me and they didn’t speak good English. I really believe that he did this on purpose because he saw that I was a foreigner and I think he was kind of unfriendly towards foreigners and probably didn’t even want me to have lunch there. Not coming back .

I had "Katsuo (Bonito) Sashimi Teishoku" set and was pretty satisfactory in terms of both price (Y1K-) and taste, not to mention the sashimi was fresh enough. There are many other choices for your light and swift Japanese lunch in this busy books-and-sport-gear town. Surly I'll be coming back there sometime.

One of the best lunch i had in tokyo! Recommend the “mekajiki” swordfish lunch set. Grilled fish for less than 1000 yen! Value and great taste!
