It was dinner time when we found ourselves wandering around Kandar Station in search of something comforting—preferably a good bowl of unagi rice. By chance, we stumbled upon a small, no-frills eatery tucked along the street. There were no tables, just a simple bar counter, but the reasonable prices on the menu immediately caught our attention. We ordered the ¥1,200 and ¥1,060 unagi rice bowls, adding a salad and soup to round out the meal. Our food arrived surprisingly quickly, and the first thing that impressed us was the generous portion of unagi. The cut was thick, far more substantial than what you might expect at this price point. The rice portion was standard, topped with a good drizzle of sauce—not too little, not too overpowering. The unagi itself was delightful: tender with a pleasant smoky aroma, likely thanks to being grilled over charcoal. Every bite had that satisfying combination of sweetness, smokiness, and warmth that makes unagi so enjoyable. Overall, the quality and quantity exceeded our expectations, especially considering the price. If you’re near Kandar Station and craving a solid, affordable unagi rice bowl, this place is absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommended for a quick, satisfying meal
View on GoogleUnagi on stick is so nice, much lesser bones. Friendly and efficient staff. Would come back again. The chicken wings surprised me.
View on GoogleThere was no customer when I enter the shop. Overall taste is good however they give me a burnt at the side unagi... This is the first time I received a burnt unagi in Japan, I think its explain why there's hardly any customer in the shop.
View on GoogleI’ve been here twice with my fiancé during our December 2025 trip, and we absolutely loved the unagi—especially compared to other places we’ve tried in Tokyo. The unagi was soft, flavorful, and perfectly glazed with just the right amount of sauce. The rice was cooked just right—not dry and not soggy. Service was also quick and efficient. The staff speak english which is a bonus point & they were very attentive to the customers.
View on GoogleSurprisingly quiet and chill location despite being on a populated street. Not for those who are worried about small bones left in unagi. Staffs are friendly and personable. Definitely be returning.
