I came to Toritsune Shizendo for breakfast and joined the line before it even opened, which already told me it was worth the wait. The oyakodon was the highlight for me — rich, juicy, and full of flavor. There was nothing fancy about the experience, just a simple meal done really well. I’d happily go back.
View on GoogleAmazing oyakodon, perfect eggs over special tender chicken. Recommend the set course that includes salad with cold chicken, (3) croquettes, chicken broth / miso soup, cucumbers & Japanese radish appetizers. Can watch the chef doing his art.
View on GoogleEating the premium oyakodon here always makes me feel incredibly happy. The rich flavor comes from multiple types of chicken and special eggs. Please savor the owner's meticulous work.
View on GoogleVisited on 5 Jan 2026, the ingredients are fresh and tasty, although the egg was a little too runny. I'm not sure about the chef who cooked it But the chef was temperamental, which spoilt the mood. He dropped the lid used to cook the eggs on the floor, then kicked it to the side for the staff to pick up and rinse with water (no soap used) The chef also sternly told the staff to remember the orders correctly when mistakes were made Staff spoke some English, cash only
View on GoogleIt is a very costly meal for what it is but since it is a once off, Im glad I tried it. I really liked their croquettes. Lovely crisp on the outside and very soft and tasty on the inside. The chicken broth is elegant - keeping the taste of the chicken without adding anything else. They serve lovely sake and I really enjoyed my glass. I also enjoyed seeing the master work behind the counter. They were happy to serve us even though a sign was put outside saying they have finished their oyakodon. Perhaps because I was with my 11 year old. Thank you for having us.
