A lovely traditional restaurant with a cozy, intimate atmosphere that can accommodate about 20 people. The place is operating more than 50 years. We ordered the pork loin cutlet set meal, which was excellent, and the service was impeccable. Highly recommended.
View on GoogleTonkatsu Shige was established in 1972. It is a small shop under the railway tracks that serves fabulous Tonkatsu. The meat here is flavourful, FRESH and very tender. No gamey smell at all which I really appreciate. My favourite dish is the Fillet Special. This is a very reasonablly priced and traditional Japanese eatery and is my Must-Go-To Tonkatsu if I am in Tokyo. It's a small joint so be early!
View on GoogleLos katsu is amazing!!! Please order Los katsu rather than fillet. Fillet is also soft and super chewy meat. Tho Los katsu has full flavor of meat! This store is super kind and punctual. The volume of salad was large, beer was really great to pair with katsu. The beer was kirin bottle. Super great experience. Los katsu : 1600 yen Super fillet katsu : 1950 yen Beer : 700 yen
View on GoogleIt was my first experience eating Tonkatsu. And as any first time goes, it was very good. Meat was juicy in crispy skin straight from the fryer. Addition of cabbage added perfect balance between meat, and soy based sauce. Of course rice, and miso soup provided this next level of satisfaction by navigating between meat, cabbage. 1600¥ per set menu, is a good option on the culinary market of Tokyo.
View on GoogleYou will have to wait if you don't go early. All menu items are delicious, but the Hirekatsu is especially delicious. It is the most delicious Hirekatsu I have ever eaten. The Special Hirekatsu is a bit on the expensive side, but I think it's worth it.
