The noodles are made of a clear, gelatin like ingredient. Not very filling, but decent flavor.

The owner told us that if we ordered from the rice and noodles section of the menu, we had to order a drink. Unlike other restaurants, they didn’t offer us any water at all. But when we were almost done eating, a Japanese customer came in, ordered just maratan, and the waiter gave him a glass of water. We usually order drinks out of habit anyway, so even if they hadn’t said anything, I would’ve ordered one. But why were we the only ones required to order drinks, while the Japanese customer was given free water? The food wasn’t bad, but the way they treated us was a real letdown. Totally killed the vibe over a few hundred yen.🙃
