This place was terrible. Never been treated worse at a restaurant, for mediocre food at best!! The waitress was unbelievably rude and incredibly impatient. I could not believe it. When asked questions, she would suddenly walk away and would purposely ignore our table when we tried to order. Not only did she take an abominable amount of time to take our order, but we were left to grab a menu from another table. Further, she brought us spicy food which we explicitly told her we could not have and pork when we asked for chicken. The only good thing was the bao dumpling dish. Even the gyoza was pitiful, leaving a burnt taste and nauseous feeling behind. I would not recommend this place nor wish the terrible nausea I received after on one’s worst enemy.

Really unfriendly service. I've never been treated like that in a restaurant. The waitress got angry when we were ordering the food because we were deciding so she suddenly left us without ordering. She ignored us on purpose so we couldn't order any food at all.

This is not a typical Taiwanese style restaurant. The owner is Chinese, not Taiwanese. This is degrading Taiwanese dishes.

It's a Taiwanese restaurant with that very... typical sort of feel, so I can't recommend it for the atmosphere, but as others have said, the food tastes outstanding. The Taiwan ramen I ordered was certainly spicy, but nowhere near the usual “so spicy you can't taste anything”—just the right heat to bring out the savoriness. If you can't find somewhere for lunch when visiting 靖国, I recommend it without hesitation (though we only just managed to get the last available spot ourselves).
