A solid soba and udon place. At least one of the chefs speaks English fairly well. When you walk in, tell them if you want soba or udon noodles. Then, pick whichever tempura pieces you want inside. You can pick as many as you like. We ordered a soba and an udon, and a total of three tempura pieces, and the total came to 900 yen. Very good soy sauce base, and excellent noodle texture. Worth a visit!

I went with shungiku-ten soba and a geso-ten topping. Maybe because it was fairly early in the morning, they said both the shungiku-ten and geso-ten were about to be fried, so I'd have to wait 3 to 5 minutes. If I get to eat them freshly fried, I'll gladly wait. So after a short wait, it arrived. By the way, among the tempura, the kisu, kakiage, and red pickled ginger were pre-fried. The noodles are on the soft side but have a nice texture and go down smoothly, and the broth is slightly sweet, well-balanced with no off-notes, giving the impression that you'd never get tired of it. This may be my first time having shungiku-ten with the shungiku kept in its original shape. It's a bit big, so it's hard to eat, which is the drawback, but it's delicious, so it's fine. The geso-ten is chopped squid tentacles. They seem to use raw tentacles, and it was so tender even as tempura that I was a little surprised — probably thanks to being freshly fried. The chopped chili peppers available and the generous amount of green onions are also nice points. The joy of eating the tempura batter and oil together with the crisp, tingly green onions and chili is irresistible. The shop was run by two people. The main man might be the manager, and his polite service was pleasant. Thank you for the meal.
