A soba shop beside the Nippon Budokan. There are tables for 2 and counter seats with a view outside. I ordered the イカ恋重 set. Rice topped with ship-frozen squid from Sakata, okra, and a soft-boiled egg; I poured squid liver soy sauce over it, mixed it well, and ate it. The squid had no fishy smell at all and was really delicious. It came with a small serving of sarashina soba, and the pretty distinctive dipping sauce was delicious. You could add more soba, so this time I ordered the rough-cut. I preferred the rough-cut. Apparently this shop is produced by Ikemori-san of DEEN.
View on GoogleIf you want authentic soba right near the Budokan, SOBACAFE IKEMORI The signature here is juwari (100% buckwheat) soba, and the appeal is the firm, chewy noodles with a strong aroma Plus, the onion tsukesoba is a Budokan-only menu item, with a special feel since you can only get it at this location The signature イカ恋重 is a specialty dish of Sakata, Yamagata, and it's rare because this is pretty much the only place in Tokyo to eat it A hidden-gem soba café near the Budokan
View on GoogleThis shop is produced by Ikemori-san of DEEN! In Tokyo, I think it's the 2nd shop, following the one in Akasaka. It was my first time going, and when I visited around 3 p.m., there happened to be another artist's concert at the Budokan that day, so the shop was crowded and a lot of the food was sold out. They have days off, like days with no concerts, so I recommend checking their official X before visiting! This time I only had dessert, but it was delicious. The photo is the hojicha roll with red bean paste. The soba is also delicious, so I recommend it.
View on GoogleAfter visiting Yasukuni Shrine, I stopped by for the desserts. Both the soba soft serve and the roll cake were delicious! Next time I'd like to come back to eat the soba.
