Interesting museum. Audio is available for English speakers. But like most WW2 museums in Japan it only focuses on Japanese perspective.
View on GoogleIt's hard to understand if you don't know Japanese. There are some real-life relics from WWII which you can see. Unfortunately for 100% you need to know Japanese. They provide some translation which is less than 1% of the content.
View on GoogleIt feels almost like reading a textbook written from the perspective of a patriotic Japanese person.
View on GoogleSaddening. It's too bad that it's not larger.
View on GoogleA museum that spotlights people who were wounded in the wars Japan fought. Vivid materials such as the diaries and recorded testimonies of soldiers sent to war, blood-stained clothing pierced by bullets, and bullets removed from inside the body convey the harshness of the battlefield. I was also surprised that more people died of illness than were killed in combat. The life-size diorama of a field hospital is overwhelming, too. The 3rd floor is the exhibition room and the 2nd floor is the special exhibition room; photography is prohibited⚠※only the diorama is allowed. Free.
