Refined dishes with careful preparation. The location is great now that it moved upstairs next to Kasuga station. Readers of Romance of the Three Kingdoms will be amused by the themed menu.
View on GoogleI saw a cockroach and very unhygienic.
View on GoogleWhen I ordered a large rice portion, they brought out a mound like something from a manga. I was stuffed. Looking around, I got the impression that many people were eating spicy dishes. An office worker at the next table was saying, “The 回鍋肉 here is really good.” Maybe I'll order it next time. Update after another visit I ordered the 麻婆ラーメン and fried rice set. I asked for a large portion of fried rice. For me, noodles + fried rice with the fried rice upsized was the right choice here. It was delicious. Update after yet another visit Chashu noodles with plenty of vegetables It was tasty, but felt a little lightly seasoned. I'd recommend the spicy dishes more.
View on GoogleI visited just after 12 on a weekday. There were 2.3 groups waiting, so I waited on the stairs for about 5 minutes. I had 麻婆豆腐, and it was authentic, the kind that makes you say “delicious”; I really enjoyed it.
View on GoogleThis is a Sichuan restaurant a little way down a side street off Suzuran-dori. 麻婆豆腐 is popular at lunchtime, but the other dishes that change from day to day are quite tasty too. Today they had 酸菜白肉(900円), so I tried it. This dish is originally a hot pot from northeastern China, but it may have been adapted slightly in a Sichuan style. There is plenty of pickled mustard cabbage, along with pork belly and koya tofu (it would have been nice to have glass noodles too…). The cabbage and pork infuse the broth nicely, making it delicious and seemingly healthy. The dipping sauce contained neither sesame paste nor fermented tofu, but it was a fragrant, light, mildly spicy chili oil sauce, which was good in its own way. And if you order a large rice portion, it's quite a lot. Incidentally, 川府 is another place nearby for delicious Sichuan food, but a nice thing about this place is that its prices are set a tier lower than 川府's. Flavor-wise, while 川府 feels refined, this place has more of a familiar, rustic taste. Both are delicious. So it seems popular with nearby office workers for everyday lunches: delicious Sichuan food with generous portions and wallet-friendly prices.
