In this place, we can enjoy whale, which is a part of Japanese culture.

I arrived right when they opened, so I was able to get a table without waiting in line. The ordering process is simple: after walking in, you choose your dishes and inform the staff, pick up your meal, pay at the register, and then take a seat. The menu focuses mainly on seafood and even includes unique items like whale sashimi and whale curry. I went with the popular Ika-Neba Negitoro Bowl (sticky squid and minced tuna with green onion), which came with a small side dish and miso soup. The miso soup had a rich, flavorful dashi broth. The rice bowl was so generous with its generous heap of fresh seafood that I couldn’t even finish it all.Highly recommended if you’re looking for a hearty seafood meal.

【If this was helpful, please give it a like ❤️👍】 This place has a wide variety of menu items, from standard dishes to rare ones using whale. With so many options, I felt that even with a group, everyone can easily find something they like. Prices feel slightly more affordable than nearby restaurants, and it's convenient when you want a casual meal inside the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Payment being cash only was a little inconvenient, but the staff were polite and it was a pleasant experience.

【Food】 Marinated tuna bowl + onsen egg (from the à la carte shelf) A small side dish and miso soup come with the set At government-building prices, I could eat a proper, filling meal very reasonably! The fish was tasty and satisfying, and since there are lots of varieties, I want to try other menu items too♩ 【Service & Atmosphere】 Payment is cash only. ① Go to the right from the entrance and first order your set meal. ② Receive your set meal, take extra side dishes from the à la carte shelf if you want, and put them on your tray. ③ At the miso soup station, get the miso soup that comes with the set. ④ Pay at the register in front of the dining area. ⑤ Eat at any seat you like ⑥ When you're done, return your dishes to the return area. The first time I went, I didn't know how things worked and was confused, so I've written it down here! Of course they'll explain if you ask, but apparently they're so busy during peak hours that there's no time for that, so please use this as a reference. I arrived right around the 11:00 opening, so I got in without lining up and could take my time choosing. I want to go again to try a different dish!

This cafeteria is open to the general public only at lunchtime. There's no need to get a troublesome temporary pass. After entering the building, go down the passage on the right and it's on the left. The system is: order verbally at the counter, then while carrying the tray that's served in a few minutes, you pick up miso soup and pay in cash. As for returns, you place everything on the multi-tier rack by the wall and leave the building. The marinated tuna bowl I ordered this time was a good portion with subtle seasoning and tasty. They also offer other attractive menu items at prices on par with ordinary restaurants. There were about 10 diners at 11:40 on a weekday, but it might get crowded after noon.
