【Awajicho】 It's located roughly between Awajicho Station and Shin-Ochanomizu Station. Since "fish shop" is in the name, maybe they source directly from wholesale? Either way, you can tell they're confident. To eat the sashimi set meal, available only while it lasts, I arrived at 11:30 and 3 groups were already inside. I was shown to the counter and ordered what I came for. Maybe it was already prepared, because it landed in front of me 1 minute later (lol There's a great variety of sashimi to enjoy, but also, the rice is delicious! And you can get refills Thank you for the meal.
View on GoogleA super luxurious sashimi platter. Since a junior colleague of mine is leaving the company, we held a farewell party at Uogen Shoten in Ogawamachi. This place belongs to a friend of my big-eating junior. ◎Assorted sashimi ◎Tuna natto ◎Atsuage ◎Fried horse mackerel The highlight was the assorted sashimi. Tuna, sea bream, hamachi, octopus, shrimp, ark shell and more—just luxurious all around. And delicious too. For drinks, we had the bottle that my big-eating junior kept there. The atmosphere is nice too, and I can totally see why my junior is a regular.
View on GoogleReviews said the sashimi was fresh and delicious, so even though it was dinner, I had sashimi. There was no set meal on the menu at night, but when I asked "Could you do a set meal?", they flexibly served it like one. The sashimi was a 9-kind platter. Tuna, raw shrimp, bonito, octopus, kibinago and more—everything was delicious and I was very satisfied. It was nice that it's an izakaya with no smoking indoors, but since there was an ashtray at the entrance, I could smell cigarette smoke whenever the door opened and closed, which bothered me a little, but it was within tolerable range. I liked the staff's personalities too. A place I want to go back to. Besides draft beer of course, they have shochu and all sorts of other drinks, and I was curious about something like a brandy made from 100 percent Nanko plums?!, so I'd like to try it next time.
View on GoogleThe sashimi set meal for 1,100 yen was just as the reviews said: huge portion, no fishy smell, and delicious. The rice is served in a donburi bowl, so that was satisfying too. I'm a big eater so I got a half refill, but I think women would probably get pretty full. The miso soup had shijimi clams. Today's small side dish was simmered beans. Hot tea is placed at each person's spot, so you don't have to keep calling the staff for refills—stress-free. The restroom was spacious and clean. That said, it was so quiet inside that there was a tense atmosphere while eating, so I gave it 4 stars.
View on GoogleLast time the sashimi set was sold out, so I came back for revenge. Fresh sashimi neatly arranged all over the plate— hard to decide which to eat first. All this for ¥1100. Best value for money. You can get rice refills, and the tsukudani is tasty too. I'll be back.
