Restaurant Platinum Fish
Glass-sided restaurant on a disused rail platform, offering curries, a kids’ menu & views of trains.
With its glass-walled interior and open terrace, this dramatic, extraordinary space is a must-visit.

Food is nothing special. Atmosphere could be great but you don't have the right to choose your seat. No one is eating but they wont let you have a table of your choosing they would put you somewhere close to their counter. If you move they would reprimand you and will repeatedly say, "No moving", so whats the use of the view? staff is very unhelpful. Always says "no moving, no touching". Everything is a NO here... Display toys are easily reachble by kids and they would get angry when kids touch them, they should have put some warning signs or put it somewhere up right? I have no plans of going back. Has a lot potential but because of the staff I have a bad exp.
View on GoogleCool little cafe on the train tracks inside a defunct train station in Akihibara. The food wasn’t stellar, the kids plate was far too small even for my toddler, but the people were friendly and the atmosphere being between two active train tracks within view of two other tracks on bridges, made for an exciting quick meal for a family. You need reservations according to their site, but there were plenty of open tables when we arrived at 1700. Unfortunately, the desserts that were advertised like French toast and pancakes a la mode, were not available in the evening which was a big disappointment for my kids. It did look like they had a fun train themed bar flight and drinks named after train lines which was cute. I’m sure the college aged students and tourist find that fun. It was about 4000¥ for a family of four to eat, which is not bad at all, but my kids immediately said they were hungry after finishing their meals in about four bites each. Super cute train cafe. Best visited by families for brunch/ lunch and by young adults and bar patrons in the evening.
View on GoogleReally enjoyed this cafe, restaurant right on the old Mansei Bashi JR train station platform. It is on Chuo Line between Suidobashi and Akihabara, and sit is closed or open air seats, enjoy the trains gliding by on either side including the NEX Narita Express train. We tried the chocolate dessert, ice cream and coffee, but they also have various train line cocktail signature drinks, wines, seems like full bar. Evening with the lights, night scene must be very cool, romantic, or also so nice for kids, families too! They have little train conductor suits, hats, for kids to borrow, dress up. Access easily short walk from Akihabara or down follow the tracks from Suidobashi. I’ll be back!
View on GoogleCute little spot in a great location between 2 active train tracks. Staff were very friendly. Unfortunately they stopped serving the lunch menu at 15:00 so I could only order from the cafe menu and had a pancake with ice cream. It was ok but I was looking forward to something more savoury. Prices were very reasonable for this unique location with great views of trains and sunlight.
View on Google5 stars for atmosphere. Its a really nice place to chill. Bonus points for being highly instagrammable. Love the glass sitting area. It was very cooling in the spring time when i visited. I went at 2.30pm and was told i only have 30mins to order and eat. They close at 3pm and open again at 5pm i think. (I should have checked the timing. Thats on me). I also only had the option to choose from the "cafe" menu which did not have much variety. Drinks arrived in about 5mins and my pancakes arrived in about 15mins. Drinks were just syrup and soda. Pancakes were really dry and flavourless (could barely keep it down if it wasnt for the ice cream). Im sure it wasnt made fresh so not sure why it took so long. If you're only here for the gram, just take them outside the cafe. There's a patio area which i later found after wasting ¥2200+ and rushed through my beverage and dessert within 30mins. ¥2200+ yen for 2 drinks and 1 pancakes.
