A hideout for weary souls is the best way I could describe this cafe! You can feel the vintage vibe in you essence when you walk in, and the calming atmosphere and smooth jazz music makes you enjoy the coffee so much more. The old man running the cafe is gifted in his art, and even though I don't usually enjoy coffee, the cappucino he made was incredible. The cake of the day was buttery smooth with great taste and it pairs well with the coffee. I can definitely recommend Ragtime if you want a short break and be transported back a few decades!

I visited because I wanted to relax for a little while in Iidabashi. Despite being close to the station, once you descend into the basement, a calm space opens up that lets you forget the city's bustle. With jazz playing, the interior felt nostalgic, and I enjoyed the atmosphere of an old-fashioned Japanese coffeehouse. I had coffee, which was wonderfully aromatic and perfect for spending some leisurely time. The calm, slightly dim space also seems suited to reading or thinking. It has a distinctive atmosphere you won't find at a chain, and I felt comfortable visiting alone without any hesitation. It's a lovely place where time seems to flow slowly. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a calm cafe or traditional coffeehouse around Iidabashi. I'd like to stop by again when I'm nearby. ※Smoking, including conventional cigarettes, is allowed at every seat, so it's perfect for smokers, but those who dislike smoke, those with children, and pregnant women would be better off avoiding it 💦

A tucked-away coffeehouse with its entrance in the basement. It's an old-fashioned place that allows smoking, so be careful if you can't stand cigarette smells! The dim interior has plenty of atmosphere. Since Irish coffee contains alcohol, I ordered an iced Vienna coffee. It came in a cute coffee glass and tasted delicious, so I was very satisfied! I hadn't ordered cheesecake, but the elderly gentleman runs the place alone, and I felt awkward saying I hadn't ordered it, so I ate it. Maybe because I wasn't hungry, I didn't find it exceptionally delicious. The cash register is an old one from Britain and has quite a presence. It seems a lot of care has gone into the other interior details, too. A very atmospheric place!

The coffee is delicious, and the thoughtfully selected light meals make this a favorite. I love the interior and atmosphere, too, and have been visiting occasionally for about 10 years. I hadn't been in the past few years, but last week I had something to do nearby and visited again after a long time. The tasteful retro atmosphere hadn't changed at all, and with so many lovely old coffeehouses closing lately, this place is truly precious. I don't like cigarette smoke, but my love for this coffeehouse outweighs that, and I keep finding myself coming back. What surprised me was that the owner remembered me and said, “I know you. You've been here before.” When you love a place and keep visiting, maybe some kind of feeling gets through? haha

I had 1 cup of coffee during a work break This tucked-away retro coffeehouse feels like stepping back in time, and you can enjoy a truly lovely space Every ornament is charming, making it a place I'd like to visit again Since smoking is allowed, that might be a sticking point for those who dislike cigarette smoke Next time I'd like to try something besides coffee, too……
