Right by Iwamotocho Station. A great location, also within walking distance of Akihabara Station. Visited with a reservation for dinner on a weekday. The interior has a warm atmosphere, and the restaurant is run by a married couple. They are very friendly, and the space feels comfortable. 【Course contents】 ・Sautéed yari squid salad ・Homemade sausage ・A bite-sized serving of onion soup ・Montemare spaghetti ・Madai acqua pazza ・Roast Japanese lean beef ・Assorted desserts ・Coffee/black tea —— ■Bite-sized onion soup Rich, with a pronounced sweetness from the onions. A flavor that warms you through. ■Roast Japanese lean beef The savory flavor of the lean meat comes through directly. The flavor develops with each chew. Overall, the course was well balanced, with plenty of food. A place I'd like to visit again, including for its atmosphere. Thank you for the meal♪

2026.5 My first visit, for Sunday lunch. The lunch menu offered pasta and omurice, so I tried the omurice. The menu was: 1.Tomato spaghetti with fresh tomatoes, basil, and Parmigiano cheese 2.Meat sauce spaghetti 3.Japanese-style spaghetti with karashi takana, tuna, and white sesame 4.Fluffy omurice The price increases if you add salad, a drink, dessert, or a large portion. A large omurice and dessert cost 1400円. The omurice was reasonably tasty. The mousse dessert was quite delicious. But eating all this does bring the price up a fair bit. ※Adding a drink costs another 200円. It would be nice if large portions were free, but perhaps this is just how it is.

Today's lunch was part of my series of places near the office that, for some reason, I'd never set foot in. This time, an Italian restaurant in a basement right by Iwamotocho Station on the Toei Shinjuku Line. The lunch menu consists of just 6 kinds of pasta. Prices start at 1,000円 and climb if you choose a large portion or add salad or a drink. From this boldly priced menu, I ordered what seemed to be a regular item, 『Octopus and squid ragu spaghetti/1,000円』, on its own. The pasta arrived shortly afterward. This is what you get for 1,000円…。The portion was just right for a woman, making me want to say, at least throw in a little salad. Men are guaranteed to feel a bit disappointed. Even so, the thin, al dente pasta had a refined saltiness and a sea aroma, and was actually quite delicious. The little bits of simmered meat were yummy too, so the quality was good. Maybe I should have ordered a large portion. The staff were constantly rushing around, spraying disinfectant right beside me as I ate, and roughly putting plates down while looking in a completely different direction. The interior had the dimness and enclosed feeling typical of a basement. The pasta isn't bad, but this place may be lacking in various ways.

The weather has been unstable lately. Stock prices are unstable too. For lunch under skies that threaten to make my mood unstable as well… I went to オステリア ジラソーレ, in the basement of a building roughly halfway between Akihabara Station and Iwamotocho Station. This area is cluttered, and you could easily walk past it if you're dazed by the heat. I always order the B lunch 1,100円 with salad and dessert. For my choice of pasta, I picked today's special, madai and green onion spaghetti (salt-flavored)! The original pasta menu can be hit or miss, but today's pasta was a big hit! The savory shredded madai, the salt balance, and the punch of plenty of sliced green onions made it so yummy! I've mostly been eating chewy fresh pasta lately, so the firm bite of al dente dried pasta was just right for my weary heart! The mousse dessert, served in a little cocotte, had just the right sweetness and melted in the mouth, gently soothing my weary heart〜 Right, time to work hard this afternoon too!
