We decided to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday with the whole family at 【二色】 in 學士會館, which we had previously visited for my grandchild's first-meal ceremony. The attentive service catering to guests' wishes is truly first-class. That alone makes it worthy of a special-occasion banquet, but the seasonal kaiseki cuisine was also thoroughly satisfying.
View on Google【Despite an atmosphere that might feel intimidating, the reasonably priced, high-quality Japanese lunch is highly recommended‼︎】 This is a kappo restaurant inside 学士会館. Within the Western-style building is a Japanese-style entrance in unfinished pale wood. Lunch includes set meals of sashimi, tempura, sushi, and more; the Monday-only kaisendon is especially recommended. Spending lunchtime in a calm atmosphere with impeccable service might be a real luxury in these busy times.
View on GoogleVisited for lunch on a weekday. Ordered the 二色御膳 lunch. It was a simmered-fish set meal. The rice's water ratio wasn't quite right for me, and the shrimp-stock miso soup was a little strongly seasoned, but the fish was delicious. The historic building's atmosphere and the experienced, composed staff made it feel very luxurious despite the reasonable price. I was thoroughly satisfied. The sorbet after the meal was a nice touch, too. Apparently the building will be demolished next year for rebuilding. Such a shame, as it's a splendid building. I'd like to come eat here again.
View on GoogleSix of us visited at lunchtime, including two people over 90. We had come mainly for drinks, but everyone ordered from the lunch menu along with their own drinks. I had 「二色御膳」 and 2 draft beers. It was delicious, and I finished everything.
View on GoogleWe visited for our baby's first-meal ceremony. The private-room fee, ceremonial meal, and celebratory sea bream were free. We were also given a commemorative family photo. There was even a 学士会館-style (?) first-meal ritual.
