Some of the best meat of my life. I’m a foodie and wondering how will I eat meat again in Europe after this? We ordered à la carte and the meat of the day was incredible. Ended with the basilicum lemon shaved ice, also a must try. It’s lots of (raw) meat so only go if you truly enjoy the food :)

Great yakiniku place with 1 on 1 service from the waitstaff and a full course. We came April 26/26 for a reservation done on Tabelog! For some reason this restaurant is also classified as sukiyaki on Tabelog but they only have 1 sukiyaki dish amongst all of the yakiniku. Regardless the food was great- the server spoke good english and explained all the dishes to us, cooking the meat. Go hungry! There are many dishes that are arranged carefully. There is a refreshing cold sukiyaki and shaved ice at the end of the meal to counteract the heaviness of the meat. We were located in a small booth by the door and the restaurant is very well staffed as we had good line of sight to the bar. I feel as if the booths could hold more than 2 people at a time, so perhaps this would be a good place for larger groups as well (in the context that many restaurants are small in size). The area is dimly lit (hence the lighting quality of the photos). Despite the hotplate on our table it did not feel too hot in the restaurant.

This was my first time experiencing yakiniku, and Namaiki truly set the bar high. As a foreigner, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the staff grilled everything for us, making the whole experience feel effortless and enjoyable. The quality of the meat was incredible so tender, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. Every bite was amazing. The atmosphere felt welcoming and not intimidating at all for a first-timer. I’m so glad this was my introduction to yakiniku. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Japan this place is a must. You would be disappointed!

Absolutely enjoyable dining experience. Meats were great and they do a good job grilling them for you. But do note most cuts were cooked rare and some of the appetisers were meat sashimi so if you’re not comfortable with raw meat, perhaps request accordingly. The dessert at the end was the perfect way to round the whole meal up. Definitely making a reservation again the next time I’m in town
