Unadorned place for Chinese-style lamian noodles of differing thicknesses, with various toppings.

The renowned Lanzhou ramen restaurant 『馬 子録「マーズルー」』 boasts over 100 years of history and tradition. Among the many Lanzhou ramen restaurants, it is the only one recognized by the Chinese government as a 「China Time-Honored Brand」. Its broth, simmered with carefully selected beef and more than 10 medicinal spices, whets the appetite with concentrated beef umami and aromatic herbal spices. The noodles are handmade to order, and you can choose your preferred thickness, including thin or flat noodles.

Caught in the rain while bookstore hopping in Jimbocho? Head to Mǎzilù Lanzhou Beef Noodles. I stumbled in at 2:30 PM, and they kindly welcomed me despite their 3 PM break. The vibe is cozy with soft lighting, perfect for a peaceful solo meal. I had the spicy beef noodles with a tea egg and refreshing green tea. They offer 9 different noodle thicknesses; I chose number 2 (thin), and the texture was spot on. Fast, authentic, and soul-warming. A must-visit for a quick, flavourful escape! 🍜📚

A great place for a quick and easy lunch or dinner in Jimbocho, especially when you don’t want to wait long for your meal. The menu is very simple: you choose either noodles or a noodle set, and then tell them how thin you’d like your noodles to be. You can also add extra toppings, such as coriander or beef. You can watch the noodles being made right in front of you, which gives the restaurant an authentic atmosphere. The Chinese beef noodles tasted very authentic as well. I asked for some chili oil, and they brought me a pot of it for free! A great place for a quick, casual, and authentic meal when you want to eat without waiting around.

Great flavor with a great chewy texture on the noodles! I liked that you had the option to choose between several different types of noodles. We went on a public holiday during peak lunch time, but only waited 5 minutes. The gyoza also had a great texture and flavor. Would eat again

My first meal when I arrived in Japan. Actually I found this restaurant when I strolling the Jimbocho streets. I saw several workers queueing this restaurant. I don't wait that long because I was alone. It has HALAL food certification too so I decided to stop by. Everyone eating so fast 😭 and I kind of sorry because I took long time to finish this. The portion is HUGE, as Indonesian I think I can share this with another person. But seriously the atmosphere is so good, everyone just minding their own business and eating. I like the flavour, it feels like I'm eating herbs but none of them feels disgusting. I hope I can go back to Japan and taste this again!

First time trying beef noodles and I’m sold. Super tasty broth, slightly spicy but not overpowering ra-yu, perfectly cooked meat, and great texture noodles (I had the number 5). Got the gyoza set with an added egg. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, and right in the heart of Jimbocho.
