Old style japanese restaurant run by owners themselves. Food was good for price. Ambiance felt very local.

View on GoogleA diner near a three-way junction heading from Kudanshita toward Iidabashi. With its predominantly red interior and sense of history, it feels like an old neighborhood Chinese restaurant. It’s a small space with a few counter seats and several tables, run by extremely experienced proprietresses. The extensive menu includes set meals centered on grilled and fried dishes, individual dishes to accompany drinks, and ramen. The selection would leave anyone struggling to choose, but I ordered 【ワンタン麺】730円+a drink The bowl arrived in about 5 minutes. Medium-thin curly noodles sit in a clear soy sauce broth, topped with chashu, wontons, leafy greens, menma, scallions, nori, and naruto. The gentle chicken-bone-based soy sauce soup has a mild, comforting flavor. The noodles have a gentle sweetness matching the soup, and I enjoyed the broth’s savory flavor. The wontons have thin wrappers enclosing a little pork filling. They’re the kind enjoyed for their slippery mouthfeel and smooth passage down the throat rather than their texture, and they were delicious. The chashu, greens, menma, and naruto brought old-fashioned chuka soba to mind. I enjoyed that nostalgic feeling as I finished everything. It’s a precious place, offering very fair prices despite its convenient location. I’d like to keep coming back to try different dishes.
View on GoogleWhile looking for dinner from my hotel on a business trip, I felt like a set meal, so I searched and tried this place. It’s mother’s cooking, the kind that makes you imagine, “I’m home~ What’s for dinner? Tonkatsu? Yay~ A large rice and piping-hot miso soup…” A major chain might taste better, but this place makes you feel like you’ve returned to your parents’ home as you enjoy the atmosphere and fill your stomach. Elderly regulars and the senior proprietress chatted happily over drinks while the proprietress energetically served food. It was a diner that filled the heart too. The price was tonkatsu 820円+rice (regular) 200円+miso soup 90円=1,110円.
