A lovely restaurant that's budget for Japanese people's lunches. It's sure to fill up an average one. As of 2026, you can get a meal like the one pictured for around $6. That's why it gets so crowded at lunchtime! lol The fried oysters or fried shrimp take a while to prepare, but they're served freshly fried. I'd love to visit again someday. :-)

Fast! Cheap! Delicious! The hamburg steak set meal was 820円. With prices rising these days, a set meal of this quality is quite rare. The interior is a little cramped, and you share tables when it gets busy. Most customers seem to be office workers from nearby.

Visited for lunch. It's underground, with zero phone reception (Docomo). Couldn't find any wifi either, which was inconvenient. The taste is average and the value isn't bad. Service is quick, so it's good for a quick bite.

A “Showa-era air-raid shelter” lurking beneath Yonbancho 【Location・Atmosphere】 Located in a tucked-away basement spot right near the Tokyu Bancho Building. The moment you enter, it feels like you've traveled back in time from Reiwa to Showa. Everything, from the menu fonts and photos to the atmosphere inside, has been preserved in its “Showa” state. There are few seats (roughly 10 by my estimate), making it extremely compact. There is absolutely nothing stylish about it, but that's what makes it good. 【Food・Value】 In an upscale location like Yonbancho, charging 850円 for 2 main dishes is an anomaly from the perspective of economic rationality (in a positive sense). You can order a combination of “meat and fish,” diversifying your animal-protein portfolio while also getting a small side dish, miso soup, and rice. It's extremely rare to find somewhere in this price range that also meets the health requirement of “don't just eat meat.” 【Payment・Overall verdict】 Cash only. I normally prefer cashless payments and avoid cash, but this restaurant is worth visiting even if it means paying the “hassle of withdrawing cash (transaction cost).” If you want to take in Showa-era UX (user experience) and overwhelming value for money, this is the right place.

It was busy around 13:00, but there was 1 counter seat open, so I got in smoothly. Lots of people were ordering the Yonbancho set with chicken katsu and ginger pork, which interested me too, but I couldn't predict the serving time. Considering when my training session started, I chose curry, which seemed likely to come out quickly. I ordered the hamburg steak curry for 770円. As expected, it was quick (lol). It arrived in about 5 minutes, but on the other hand, the water came late and they forgot the fukujinzuke and such ^_^; Well, I don't eat fukujinzuke or rakkyo, so no problem. The hamburg steak had no juiciness whatsoever. Maybe it had been made in advance. It was substantial, and as a curry topping it was perfectly acceptable, I think. If this is the hamburg steak in the hamburg steak set, it might not work unless the sauce is really good. The curry has a fair amount of depth. The sweetness and the heat that follows are fairly restrained. That makes it feel a little weak, but it's still a perfectly tasty curry. They seem to turn tables quickly at lunchtime, and considering the price, the food is reasonably good. It's not somewhere I'd remember and feel drawn to revisit, but if it were near my workplace, it would definitely become a regular in my daily lunch rotation.
