「キッチングラン」, the Japanese Western-style restaurant long loved in 神田神保町, is back! Introducing the ハンバーグ定食 for 1,150円 at キッチンVAVA. The closed キッチングラン has become a niboshi ramen shop while retaining traces of its old appearance. But at the back is an unfamiliar little shop. Peeking inside reveals a tiny place with 5・6 counter seats and a Japanese Western-style menu. I ordered the classic ハンバーグ定食. Less than 1 minute after ordering, the owner served rice from a rice cooker outside and placed it in front of me. The hamburger steak followed immediately—very speedy service. Hamburger steak with Napolitan and a fried egg: a reliably familiar sight. Eaten with rice and miso soup, this is Japanese Western-style cooking at its finest. The rugged-textured hamburger steak is coated in a strong demi-glace sauce, perfect with white rice! Follow that with miso soup and it's irresistible! Piling a generous portion of well-fried Napolitan onto rice, eating carbs on carbs, is wonderfully sinful. Even my beloved fried egg moves up a level when coated in demi-glace sauce. It's a delicious hamburger steak plate that keeps you eating the slightly generous serving of rice. Apparently, the owner here used to run the now-closed キッチングラン. So it's the same taste as キッチングラン, whose closure was much lamented. The flavor of a renowned restaurant revived in an unexpected form. I thoroughly enjoyed it! ♯神保町ランチ ♯神保町洋食 ♯神保町グルメ ♯キッチングラン ♯キッチンVIVA ♯ハンバーグ

A combination of 生姜焼き and ハンバーグ from the former キッチングラン. I'd read that the 生姜焼き had an unusual ketchup seasoning, but it tasted like a mix of warishita and chili sauce. The regulars were ordering メンチカツ, so I'd like to try メンチカツ next time

Visited just after 12 on a weekday. Inside there's only a counter, with about 5 or 6 seats. The rice must be outside, because the owner opened the sliding door when bringing it over. I had ハンバーグ, which felt like quintessential Japanese Western-style food and was reliably delicious.

【キッチンビバ@神保町】 75/100 A neighborhood Japanese Western-style restaurant that once captured the stomachs of 神保町 locals under the name キッチングラン. I don't know why it was renovated and renamed, but I remember being deeply moved by nostalgia last year. The shop is small and the kitchen even smaller, so the rice cooker is outside. ■しょうが焼き:1150円 —————————— Was it the seasoning of nostalgia that made it taste good last time? None of that day's emotion was there. I ordered the same 生姜焼き, but first off, there was no fried egg. Looking at the menu, a fried egg is a 100円 topping. しょうが焼き itself is up 100円, so effectively, adding the fried egg means a 250円 increase. Tough times, honestly. The meat in the 生姜焼き is paper-thin and tough, and cools down quickly. It's very hard to call it delicious. The ナポリタン was average, but the missing fried egg really makes a big difference. 生姜焼き→rice→ナポリタン At this level, that rotation is a struggle. *************************************** しょうが焼き:1150円 【キッチンビバ】 東京都千代田区神田神保町2-24 Opening hours|11:30 - 15:00 17:30 - 20:00 18:00 - 22:00(dinner menu) Closed|Sunday ※As of January 2026 *************************************** Everyone has probably experienced, to varying degrees, being served something completely different from a food display or menu photo. That moment of, doesn't this look totally different from the picture? It's what's called having your expectations let down, but sometimes expectations can be overturned in a good way too. キッチンビバ. I'd been going to its predecessor, キッチングラン, since I was young, and apparently its owner started this place. It's in the unit next to グラン. The ハンバーグ combination looks good too, but I chose しょうが焼き. And this is what I was talking about at the start: it's completely different from the food display. The color is good, the portion is generous, and it even comes with a fried egg that wasn't supposed to be there. The ナポリタン portion is huge, far more than a little extra. The taste goes without saying. Don't make me go out of my way to say it's insanely delicious. Outrageously good, and with this portion too. The joy of eating ナポリタン on white rice. A combination unique to neighborhood Japanese Western-style cooking. *************************************** しょうが焼き:1050円 【キッチンビバ】 東京都千代田区神田神保町2-24 Opening hours|11:30 - 15:00 18:00 - 20:00 Closed|Sunday ※As of June 2025 ***************************************

After 20:00, it transforms into an izakaya. (Note that set meals are only available until 20:00) With a counter and a TV, it has a nice, somewhat Showa-era atmosphere. Perfect for a quick drink or some light drinking. The snacks and small dishes made by the stylish, cool owner are delicious whatever you choose, and reasonably priced. Apparently, they skewer the yakitori in-house. The tartar sauce is homemade too. This キッチンビバ relocated, renovated, and reopened after the well-known 「キッチングラン」 next door closed. The evening izakaya seems to be a new venture since the renovation, and not many people know about it yet. I hope it thrives as a relaxing gathering place for people working in 神保町 and local residents, and becomes as beloved as ビバ's set-meal restaurant.
