Food was okay. Not really outstanding. Food was served in a timely manner. Ambiance was nice. Staff was accommodating. It wasn’t busy when we went there for dinner. There were 2 other customers.

A Western-style restaurant in an alley not far from Kudanshita Station. When I was a student, I often ate at 「キッチンジロー」, which had several locations around Kanda, but before I knew it, the locations kept disappearing. It is now part of a major family restaurant chain, and apparently only the Osaka and Kudanshita locations remain. This precious remaining restaurant also fills up in no time at lunchtime. The counter and table seating areas are quite spacious, but they were packed with office workers from nearby. Lunch offers individual dishes such as hamburger steak, fried foods, curry, and grilled dishes, with a system where you can choose a single dish, 2 dishes, or 3 dishes. I ordered 【2-dish platter (hamburger steak & stamina-yaki】1,300円 and it arrived in about 5 minutes. The set includes a plate of hamburger steak topped with their original sauce, stamina-yaki made with stir-fried pork belly and onions, and shredded cabbage, along with pork soup and rice. The hamburger steak has a moist texture with the savory flavor of mixed ground meat and the sweetness of its fat. It releases plenty of juices while still having a satisfying bite, and it's delicious. The light, slightly sweet demi-glace sauce has a distinctive savory flavor that goes well with white rice. As for the stamina-yaki, the pork pieces and onions are thoroughly stir-fried in a sweet and spicy sauce with a strong garlic flavor. The savory sweetness of the pork and the sweetness of the caramelized onions really shine through, making it addictively delicious. Naturally, it goes well with rice, and I've come to love it even more as an adult. It was a lovely lunch, letting me savor a flavor I still love while feeling nostalgic. Seeing how popular it is at lunchtime made me feel that キッチンジロー is still going strong, and I hope they open more locations.

Visited for lunch for the first time in a while. Ordered the 2-item platter with stamina-yaki and fried fish. Regular portions of both rice and salad. By the way, large portions are free too. It was served in about 5 minutes. There's something nice about drinking pork soup from a mug. The seasoning on the stamina-yaki was good too. It was delicious.

This place is a favorite! It has that quintessential Japanese Western-style restaurant atmosphere. It gets pretty busy at lunchtime, but the restaurant is spacious, so you don't have to wait in line too long.
