A coffee shop with a nostalgic Showa-era atmosphere. They bring you an ashtray when you sit down. In this day and age, it is friendly to smokers too. Its location gives it a secluded, unobtrusive presence, so there are few customers and the atmosphere is quiet and relaxed. There is no menu out, so just ask and the friendly elderly lady will bring one over. I ordered almond au lait (450円), which you do not see at other places, cocoa (450円), and curry rice (650円). The almond au lait has little bitterness and a mellow, gentle taste. The cocoa has a simple, old-fashioned flavor. The curry rice has a warming, spice-driven heat. It is nostalgic, simple, and gentle enough for me to eat even though I struggle with medium-spicy curry. Apparently, it will close on 18年3月27日(火), partly due to the wave of urban redevelopment. It is sad to think that such a warm coffee shop will disappear.
View on GoogleAn old-fashioned coffee shop. It is pricier than chain coffee shops. There are no separate smoking areas or smoking bans, so be aware that the smell and smoke of cigarettes are intense on busy days. That too is part of how this cafe lets you experience the Showa era.
View on GoogleVery close to Akihabara Station, yet never crowded whenever I visit. Fairly spacious, with a reasonably extensive food menu. It feels like a slightly dubious countryside Western-style restaurant. A hidden restaurant where you can really relax in always-busy Akihabara.
View on GoogleIt was a relaxing, unpretentious coffee shop that was lovely in every way. It is a shame it is closing.
View on GoogleApparently, it will close at the end of March. A lovely coffee shop with a Showa-era feel, convenient for meetings or breaks. An oasis tucked between Akihabara's buildings.
