They were a timeless kissaten that delivered both charm and craftsmanship. The coffee was rich and comforting, brewed with precision to bring out deep, well-rounded bitterness and a hint of roasted nuttiness. The cheesecake is a gentle delight—smooth, light, and subtly sweet. It avoids being overly rich, instead offering a fluffy, creamy texture that pairs beautifully with the boldness of the coffee. Together, they create a classic combination that feels honest and satisfying. This place is a quiet haven for coffee lovers and anyone drawn to old-school Tokyo cafes😍

Fine little basement kissa with really good coffee and cakes. Everyone’s friendly and it’s the kind of interior with dim lightning where you want to stay for hours and even doze off for a bit. Ciggies are the only downside, but I understand it’s an integral part of the Showa kissa tradition, so I endure.

Better to go in the evening if you want to relax. Lots of uni students during the day. Great atmosphere though and the coffee was great. Brazilian was too bitter for my liking. Mandheling was always good.

My new favorite cafe in Tokyo. The coffee is exceptional, the staff welcoming, lovely old wood, and decades-old knick knacks make for a great place to read and ponder. Oh, how I regret not bringing a book with me!
