For anyone loving old film cameras, and having 1 hour to spend in the area, this is a fun-enough quick stop to see a camera museum, and it's cheap at ¥300 admission. They've got a few view cameras from the daguerrotype era, and then it basically focuses on the historical evolution of Japanese TLR/SLR camera lines (and a little bit of digital). Lots of collections of stuff you haven't seen in 30 years like film canisters, flash bulbs, etc. There are basically 2.5 medium sized rooms of glass case exhibits. There are also a few hands-on demo units (but none really too interesting). The only thing I wish is that the exhibits would be a little more designed with education about the history in mind, because a lot of it is just a sequence of cameras presented with small text placards. (of course, I'm sure the choice of which cameras is meaningful) Or also they've got some of the technical instruments for camera/lens making, but there are kind of just sitting there, without much explanation. But, what are you gonna do, this is kind of a quiet museum with minimal staffing on autopilot, and it's just nice that it exists. I took a few pictures and have attached them (you're not supposed to). Go if you have some time to kill!

Lots of very cool cameras with interesting histories. Some pretty unique and rare promotional and prototype pieces, too. Unfortunately (and ironically), taking pictures or video is not allowed -- although an exception is made if you need to capture text for a translation ("provided you delete the data afterwards").

You have to be an older camera geek to enjoy this place, I loved this place!!! They had all the cameras I used to fantasize having when I was a child!

Very cool collection of old cameras, and I spent nearly an hour looking over everything. Virtually every camera you’ve ever owned is probably here in some form! Agreed with the other reviewers that prohibiting photos here is a little ironic, and probably affected my enjoyment a little bit. There was so much I wanted to capture to remember.
