Had the greatest evening! The jazz trio “POP& JAZZ” offered two very long and lovely sets of standards. The place is very tiny, yet we were accommodated without a reservation. We were lucky, you should call and try reserving! The menu is not big because only one chef has room to move in the kitchen; the taste is, however, in “ presidential “ words, “YUGE”. We had a great , great time. We chose the place because it is very close to the Otani and other high end hotels and it turned out to be about 3 times less expensive than BLUE NOTE and other similar clubs in town; perhaps not equally famous, but just as pleasant, enriching and lots more authentic-feeling! Highly recommended!

I enjoyed the daily lunch for 950円. The homemade hamburg steak had a home-cooked feel, and there was a good amount of rice, so I was satisfied. On my way out, I was given a little souvenir like a bite-sized cake. Thank you for the meal. ※Payment is cash only.

A Western-style (yoshoku) restaurant located a little away from the cluster of eateries near Kojimachi Station. The interior is cramped and the counter and such have a strong DIY feel, but the food is delicious, and I felt it's a good place for a solo lunch. Besides two daily lunches, A and B, there are many slightly unusual specialty dishes such as ground lamb keema curry, spicy rice with ground lamb and eggplant, beef omurice, and green shiso-flavored aigamo duck pilaf. It's not just meat dishes either; there's also kobashira scallop cheese cream rice, and the daily specials include fish dishes too. I had the daily special of white fish with gnocchi and maitake baked with cheese, and enjoyed it, but the person next to me was eating teppanyaki rice that also looked really good. The daily specials come with free large rice and free refills, so I think the portion will satisfy even men. With eating out getting more and more expensive, it was nice that as of April 2024 most of the menu, including the daily specials, was offered at under 1,000円, at 900円 or 920円.
