Very traditional Chinese x Japanese meal. There's valuable set meal for lunch which is very good. GYOZA IS A MUST TRY!
View on GoogleTasty fried rice! So good and cozy. Loved the gyoza!
View on Google・Fried rice ¥900 ・Half portion of gyoza ¥350 Today I returned to "生駒軒" for fried rice and gyoza, in an area famous as a hot little alley with 2 hugely popular Akihabara restaurants side by side! Founded in 1970 (Showa 45), this hugely popular neighborhood Chinese restaurant sits in an alley 4 minutes on foot from Akihabara Station's Showa-dori Exit💁♂️ Along with its neighbor 「とんかつ福与志」, it's in an area famous as a "hot little alley" with 2 Akihabara favorites side by side. It's so popular, especially at lunchtime, that you can see crowds seemingly being sucked into the alley! I get the impression that many people order the half fried rice and ramen set, hot-and-sour soup noodles, or gomoku fried rice packed with ingredients, but my personal recommendations are the simple regular fried rice, gyoza, shumai, and katsu curry📝 Arriving at 14:02 one Tuesday, I was seated at the 1 table that happened to be free💁♀️ Sure enough, it's busy even after lunchtime! The katsu curry and shumai are delicious too, so it was hard to decide, but this time I ordered fried rice and half a portion of gyoza! Both arrived about 10 minutes later🥟 Simple fried rice whose glossy, beautiful appearance alone guarantees it's going to be amazing! The ingredients are simple, like ham and egg, but it's glossy without too much oil🤩 I don't like salty fried rice, but this was delicious, moist fried rice with just the right amount of salt! Next, the gyoza with their beautifully crisp browned bottoms😍 Break one open and it's packed with filling, and the wrapper is pleasantly chewy and delicious! Each one is a good size, with a lovely crisp seared texture. Delicious🥹 They're good with soy sauce or vinegar + pepper too, but I prefer lighter flavors and want to taste the filling of delicious gyoza directly, so as usual, eating them plain without anything was best😎 The simple, delicious fried rice and half portion of gyoza, perfect when you want just a little more, kept my chopsticks moving the whole time, delicious right to the end! I want to eat the katsu curry, shumai, fried rice, and gyoza regularly, so I'll keep coming🥢 ■生駒軒 東京都千代田区神田和泉町1-2-30 4 minutes on foot from the Showa-dori Exit of Akihabara Station on the JR lines (276m) ■Opening hours: Monday・Tuesday・Wednesday・Thursday・Friday ・11:00 - 15:00 Opening hours and closing days may change, so please check with the restaurant before visiting. ■Closed: Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays ■Payment: ・Cash only ■Seating: 24 seats (6 tables × 4 people)
View on Google2026/4 I ordered the ramen and half fried rice set. There was no counter seating inside, mainly tables for 4, so sharing tables was to be expected. The ramen was simple soy sauce ramen with thin noodles. The noodles had a nice bite and were delicious. The broth was nostalgic soy sauce ramen too. The half fried rice seemed surprisingly generous. The salt and pepper made it very appetizing. Thinking about it, the lightness of the ramen and the salt-and-pepper seasoning of the fried rice felt nicely balanced.
View on GoogleIt was after 2 in the afternoon and I thought the peak had passed, but it was full. I debated the half fried rice + ramen set on the recommendation strip, but chose fried rice on its own. Seeing a half portion of gyoza served to an earlier customer tempted me to add one afterward. As for the flavor, the fried rice had egg and ham, and its simple, unpretentious approach was nice, but I wanted a little more salt. The gyoza, on the other hand, were a superb example of classic neighborhood Chinese cooking from the Showa era, with just the right amount of garlic chives. Next time, I might try gyoza with rice. I'd also like to try the zha cai set meal that looked like shredded pork with green peppers, which the person next to me ordered.
