Stopped by Tokyo ramen street before hopping on the Shinkansen. Wanted to get me some iekei style ramen and stopped by this place for their special bowl. As advertised, the tender braised pork and flavorful nori was fantastic. However, the broth could use a bit more punch as it was on the gentler side. Overall, a great bowl that got me prepped for my long journey north! Crowd Size: Very High (10min wait) Payment Method: SUICA
View on GoogleMy third stop at Tokyo Ramen Street inside Tokyo Station—and as expected, the place was lively and packed with tourists. Despite the constant crowd, the atmosphere remains pleasant and well-organized. This particular shop specializes in Yokohama Iekei-style ramen, known for its rich, pork-forward intensity balanced with a soy-based backbone. I opted for a simple tonkotsu ramen (¥950) since I wasn’t too hungry, but even a modest bowl proved to be deeply satisfying—and well worth the wait. The broth carried a bold, savory aroma, with a creamy, umami-rich depth that coats the palate without becoming overwhelming. It strikes that signature Iekei balance—hearty yet structured, indulgent yet controlled. One of the highlights here is the selection of condiments. Their in-house garlic miso paste is particularly noteworthy—once mixed into the broth, it adds a punch of savory intensity with a slightly fermented depth, transforming the bowl into something even more addictive. The standout, however, was the chashu. Though served as a single, generously sized piece, it delivered exceptional flavor—tender, juicy, and finished with a beautifully smoky note that lingers with each bite. A well-executed Iekei bowl that rewards patience—rich, customizable, and deeply satisfying.

View on GoogleTried this for the Tokyo Ramen Street experience. Went before lunch to catch a train, and the two of us just wanted to share 1 ramen. Bumbed that they required 1 ramen per person. Otherwise standard street food ramen experience.
