Absolutely the best fried chicken I’ve had—and I’ve eaten quite a few! The chicken is remarkably tender and juicy, avoiding the dryness, while the breading is generously soaked in the signature glaze without being harshly crisp. Their portion is generous and very satiafying! Definitely worth the wait and will come back for more!
View on GoogleMy sis want to try this so be it. It turns out to be the best chicken nanban I've ever had‼️ It went viral so that the queue is already there even before they open at 11. I was on the queue for straight 30 mins (pls be prepare). The waitress and the chef is absolutely welcoming and working so fast. The chicken nanban is serve in less than 10 mins after I ordered. It's a big portion even for regular portion. I was ordered the chicken nanban with less rice but it's still big for me. It's absolutely delicious. The tartar is creamy and legit compliment the crispy chicken nanban. I've nothing to complained. Will I recommend? YES!! It's definitely worth to try.
View on GoogleHimuka Shukudo is the definition of Chicken Nanban perfection. This spot elevates the classic Miyazaki dish to an art form, creating a balance of flavors that is hard to beat. The fried chicken is expertly prepared—retaining a satisfyingly crispy exterior while staying incredibly juicy on the inside. It is coated in a sweet and tangy nanban vinegar that cuts through the richness, perfectly complemented by a generous serving of their signature smooth and creamy tartar sauce. The interplay of textures and flavors is remarkably balanced, providing a rich explosion of taste in every bite without feeling overly heavy. It is a hearty, comforting meal that hits every note for fans of Japanese soul food.
View on GoogleI love me some chicken nanban and I was excited to try this place. Ordering is easy at the machine when you walk in. There are several options to choose from, such as chicken breast or leg, tartar or salty, or a mix of the two. I went with the traditional option. The tartar felt a bit different than others I’ve tried, and maybe a bit more sour. It was good. The chicken felt a little undercooked however. Overall, it was still tasty and I would recommend trying it. Service was fast and friendly.
View on Googlei never thought chicken nanban could be so insanely delectable. this hot and steaming, golden — with a tint of saucy orange — piece of chicken leg was unbelievably JUICY and TENDER. biting into unleashed a literal BURST of juices and flavour, i can’t explain how divine this experience was. it was so moist, that it didn’t feel like your typical “lean” chicken meat. in addition to the INCREDIBLE chicken, the tartar was also so heavenly. generously covering each chicken leg was a creamy, sweet, and tangy sauce that complemented the meatiness of the chicken immaculately. this tartar sauce had a sweeter, rich taste than it did sour, and it really went so well with everything, including the crunchy, raw, and refreshing bed of cabbage it came with (eventually, the cabbage absorbed the juices dripping from the meat and the tartar sauce and it tasted so so so good). now imagine all of this heavenly goodness served on a soft, fluffy, and slightly sticky (allowing it to clump together on your chopsticks easily) bowl of rice that stayed steaming throughout the meal. the three piece chicken , though labeled as a small portion , was a perfect, filling size paired with a regular bowl of rice (the pieces of chicken are actually quite large and hefty). this was my second time coming actually, and i had ordered the breast last time and was extremely disappointed — in my memory, it was much drier and more flavourless compared to the thigh. i’m so glad that i gave this place another try though, because this is now one of my favourite places in the world.
