I first tried HARBS in New York, and I honestly couldn’t believe a cake could taste that good. It was one of those desserts that just makes you feel happy. So when I visited Tokyo, I had to try HARBS again. It wasn’t quite as mind-blowing as I remembered, and the taste was actually very similar to the New York location. If anything, I thought the cakes in Tokyo were a little sweeter. That said, they’re still absolutely worth trying at least once!
View on GoogleIf you arrive after lunch, you might have to wait about half an hour, but the experience here is always excellent—simply because the cakes are so delicious! Whenever I come across a Harbs, I make sure to stop by. They didn't have the strawberry cake this time; otherwise, it would have been a must-order. The Fruit Mille-Crêpes seemed a bit smaller—likely due to rising ingredient costs—and the slice actually toppled over when served, which gave us a good laugh. Still, it was so tasty that we ended up ordering a second one. A shop that puts such care into its creations deserves plenty of support; the cream on the chocolate cake is so good. It makes you forget all the day's worries.
View on GoogleI visited weekday 12:30 pm I waited 50 minutes to be seated. They do have chairs in front of the store so the wait wasn't too excruciating, but they still make you line up the whole time. I had their famous mille crepes cake (1,050 yen) and hot green tea (830 yen). The cake was amazing. The balance between crepe, cream, and fresh fruits was great. It was sweet but not overly sweet, and the fruits were not overpowered. The green tea was alright. Despite the insane wait I absolutely enjoyed their cake. I will probably opt for take-out if I can next time though.
View on GoogleWe have heard about this place, so tried it on the second day after we arrived in Tokyo. We ordered the Fresh Fruit Cake and Mille Crepes, both cakes are so fresh and delicious, it is very light, creamy but not too sweet. They go so well with the tea we ordered. The services and atmosphere are good but not up to the notch as the food. Would still recommend it as the cake are just so good!
View on GoogleThis is a famous bakery with many branches in Tokyo. If you want to eat in the shop, you have to wait about an hour, which is very long. So I bought it to take home. The cake tasted absolutely delicious! The ingredients were high quality, and the cream was perfectly balanced. It was well worth the price.
