Had the best time at Gourmands. I came as a solo diner and I don’t speak Japanese. They don’t have English menu but the kind waiter tried his best to explain the menu. Thank God for Google Translate too :) I had the mushroom and ham salad, deer steak, and bear steak. Everything was delicious, service was superb!
View on GoogleExcellent value for a course menu featuring wild game such as bear, badger and venison. Lots of more conventional options as well.

View on GoogleA restaurant where you can fully enjoy gibier cuisine; throughout the course I got to savor a wide range of ingredients and cooking methods. Ingredients you rarely get to taste, like deer, bear, wild boar, tanuki, and raccoon, came one after another, but none had any gamey smell, and you could really taste each one's character and umami. What left the strongest impression was the venison from Tsushima. It was cooked perfectly and tender, and paired superbly with the rich red wine sauce. The bear meat stew and the soup curry made with gibier fond also had deep flavors, and you could feel their dedication to ingredients. The restaurant has a calm atmosphere, and the dishes were explained carefully. Gibier beginners can enjoy it, while I think gibier lovers will be even more satisfied. It's a place I'd also recommend to anyone looking for an unusual dining experience.
