It's in a sort of semi-basement reached by stairs from the side of the building, so it's hard to find, but inside it's an old-fashioned soba shop with a nice atmosphere. I deliberately skipped the set and, despite the heat, went for curry nanban (hot) with a small rice. True to soba-shop curry, the dashi really came through, and it was most delicious. They even gave me an apron, very thoughtful.
View on GoogleThe shop is on the first basement floor. An older lady was wiping the handrail of the steep stairs. I went in around 11:30, and there were about 4 ladies working. Maybe 4 is a lot for a shop this size! There were no customers yet, so I was the very first. I ordered the soba from the katsudon set. For a country bumpkin like me, the portion felt a bit small. Well, it's the city, so I guess that's how it is. The katsudon was swimming in sauce, just the way I like it. The soba was norrrmal, the miso soup was kinda tasty. The pickles were so-so too. When I finished, I felt like I wanted to eat a bit more, but maybe this amount is just right
View on GoogleIt may be ordinary as a neighborhood soba shop, but I think this volume at this price in Tokyo is amazing. The tempura is freshly fried and crispy😋
View on GoogleI went there for lunch. It gets crowded at lunchtime, and depending on the time there's a line. This time I just barely got in without waiting. The sets are tempting, so this time I ordered the katsudon and zaru soba set. It was quite filling and delicious, but the katsu was a bit on the small side lol Still, I got full, so I was able to work hard in the afternoon. Thank you very much.
View on GoogleVisited for lunch. I went in a little before 12 and got seated right away. But after 12, people poured in all at once and a waiting line formed quickly. That said, food comes out fast and turnover is good, so I don't think you'd have to wait that long. This time I ordered just the soba with spicy dipping sauce, 850 yen. It was spicier than I expected, and I choked on the first bite. Not that it was too spicy; I just slurped too much at once… They also serve sobayu, so at the end I diluted the sauce with the sobayu and drank it. The soba portion is generous, so it's pretty satisfying.
