Amazing curry! Amazing pickles to go with em! Could use some sprucing up, but just ignore that, soon as you eat you can forget that.

Cheap and cheerful, with large servings of curry rice and crispy katsu, Johnny’s is a great place for a quick bite to eat. I got the “futsu” (regular) rosukatsu and curry for Y800 and it was very tasty and very filling. The curry sauce has a deep and rich taste and the katsu was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. You can add homemade onion pickles to your dish.

Went there as had been looking for a chicken katsu curry. Was served very hot so patience may be advised to cool down and avoid burnt tongue. Large serving was indeed large, sat upstairs, had access to red pickled veg topping to add based on preference and iced water to drink.

Ochanomizu is well known for its many music stores. It’s less known that this town has so many curry shops. Curry shop Johnny provides Saku Saku, or crispy, katsu curry, which everybody likes.
